Pretty sure there are more expensive moments than a theater set from this show. Namely the car races episode, Hal's dad's home and it's extras, with the stunts in it and civil war outfits. I bet even the dude ranch Francis works at is pricier.

Francis isn’t just a leader imo, he’s an adaptive conqueror. Every bad or weird circumstance Francis has found himself in, he’s always making the most of it and coming out relatively ok. Military school has him forming a tight knit community where he adapts into a more disciplined and calculating man while still having enough of a rebellious streak to not have it break him. When he becomes an indentured servant in Alaska, he not only sticks it to his boss, but he also gets married to a loving wife and becomes more connected to the native Alaskan community. At the dude ranch, Francis becomes an immensely capable rancher who finds contentment in the authority of otto

Hal: It's just interesting to learn how it starts. First you buy the king size bed, (the largest bed made), but then of course at some point even the giant bed doesn't put enough distance between you and the hideous monster, so you start sleeping in another room and soon we're barely exchanging pleasantries, and then one day you say, "Hal, let's just say what we're both thinking," and then I end up eating alone at a formica table under a swinging light bulb while you are on a beach in Ibiza being rubbed with cocoa butter by your new lover who you can never get to close to!!

No matter what I think Dewey will ultimately get a scholarship, he have participated in many competitions even goes as far to international level, while it is true he not always win many of that competitions but the fact he have participated in many competitions that should prove his ability in playing piano and also compose music, it should enough to got him so sort of scholarship beside at the end of final season Dewey still at early high school he should be able to participate more in many more competition in his junior and senior years, and maybe win some of it, and thus making his resume even better beside we know that Dewey may not be as smart as Malcolm in academic but he is still exceptionally smart at his academic so he should also able to get a good grade that will boost his resume even more. Gonna be honest if one day they make some sort continuation of this series I hope they make Dewey get a scholarship to music school in Austria and then be music composer and pianist that work in Austria, I don't know that scenario just sound fitting for someone like Dewey.

Just when I read the description about Bryan Cranston's singing, I was like "that's so true". In fact, I just remembered in the episode Flashback when Hal was singing to the tune of 1812 Overture. Another source of proof and a skill that Bryan has kept rather quiet about.

Heh, this reminds me of the Dexter's Laboratory episode "Lab-retto", the way it has Dexter and his family singing an original opera in a similar manner.

0:37 you know Hal is seriously pissed off when he doesn’t even care that he’d have to take care of Jamie all night if he wakes him up arguing about his marital issues.

It sounds kind of like Lois might actually be singing the first few bars. Does anyone know? I've looked for an hour, can't find anything.

This is one of the best scenes in the history of television. Being a popular family Sitcom, is surprising how they got away with all this incredible scenes and the themes they talked about in the whole show... It's sad to see how there doesn't seem to be a family Sitcom with this level of quality in writing and screenplay today. It seems today all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV really. Like they actually think the viewer isn't intellegint enough to appreciate a good political message, or a fabolous display of art like an opera suddenly carrying the narrative of the episode.
