When you can see the piste bashers track ruts you know its gonna be firm, those conditions look crunchy and chopped as hell, judging by how little the edge was biting. Great riding, showing everyone how its done!

if you were running through the queue at the start, board in hands, you would have passed 100 skiers more☝️ your wax and board preparation was exceptional. Had this only once in my life overtaking all on flat cat track. Share the waxing wisdom with us pls. The Nidecker double spoon does probably also a good job in the flat sections.

Out of interest What made you choose Alp d'huez as a place to base yourself? Being so far south with a lot of south facing slopes, it must create a lot of freeze thaw conditions and limited powder days. This run looks great fun though.

You can learn easily and relatively cheaply at any indoor snow zone. Most do a one day thing, was enough for me and I was hooked for life! Also better prepared you for the mountains,

What is your favorite board for these types of conditions? I just recently got into snowboarding, been about 6 times and trying to teach myself everything watching your videos. I bought a Lib Tech T.Rice Pro, but wondering what would be potentially better in similar conditions.

T Rice pro is a solid all rounder that would work well here. I generally prefer a softer board for messing around on. You can still ride them fast but they can be playful too. But yeah if you just want to ride fast a stiff board is better. But I'm not really riding with great technique here, just kind of going quick to keep the video shorter!
