The best case examples are teenagers. I coach basketball, and there are always kids who talk loud, get mad at teammates, and have no idea how to communicate that anger or how to convey it. But then you encounter a few players who do the exact same thing, and in the same demonstrative manner, but they say the right words and give off the proper energy (even if it's negative) that just commands respect and a sense of "we're screwing this up right now. Let's cut it out." Especially in professional football, where locker room is so important, shoutout to all the leaders over the years who just command respect with a few words

Milan with Nesta, Dida, Pirlo, Kaka, Inzaghi, Shevchenko. Oh my god I used to LOVE football back in the day, my childhood was great watching all those legends. Football now is just a few talented players scattered around a few clubs, and the clubs with money gets all of them. now football is so shit. Not only Serie A, but all leagues. They just come up with logics and claims like football has evolved and football is more competitive now. But the fact is today football lacks world class players. Majority of the modern players are overhyped.
@jjrj85688 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree; and you know why, because money back then had not ruined football yet; now any promising 18-21-year-old gets RICH overnight and the desire is just gone; the desire to lift a UCL with a major club, the desire to become a club legend. Money has ruined the ego, the desire, the hunger, the glory; now it's all about PSG, Man City, or any of the rich PL clubs...and even Arabian sugar-daddy clubs...that and FIFA ruining young players with multiple international matches...good 18 years-old youngsters playing in the NT, not the under-21...and getting severe long-term injuries...

true, football in the 2000s was the golden era, especially watching serie a back then, i miss it so much. Now footballers are mercenaries and overhyped. For those fans who don't speak Italian: Maldini actually says "Stai muto". It's a very harsh version of shut up (perhaps a better translation is shut the f* up). It's typically used in the army and in situations whereby the person who says it wants to underlie his authority. In football, only the captain or an older player can say that to a younger team mate.
