You call it popular yet nearly everyone I see in barber beat comment sections is scattering to find a term for this "amazing new genre" and so they name it after someone who popularized it in the vaporwave community despite not really making vaporwave but only plays into its aestethics. Even HFM himself said that he doesnt want to be associated with barber beats, which I find hilarious considering its origins. Don't get me wrong, I get it, lounge music as it is popularly defined today has merged with generic house music and other shit, finding music like this is becoming harder if you don't know where to look. I think its just the disassociation from the sample origins and the current audience that irks me, many seem so clueless. You keep doing your thing though, appreciate your channel.

@@GAZEREAPER I knew about lounge music for long enough but it never really dawned on me how much I loved the sound until I found macroblank. Then I broke off from there. The sound of barberbeats is distinct and refined, it's something past just lounge music to me. That might be pretentious though
