Sometimes the lattice and screens are taken out of the windows bc it helps keep them cleaner over time and not trap dirt. I use to be a subcontractor and we’d put the screens in only after the home was sold and being moved into.

I wonder if it is because someone who is extremely rich would not want an outdated home. They would want the most up to date and personalised design. Also, such abandoned homes can be seen as bad luck, and when homes are left unused, they can start to deteriorate.

Still made out of lower quality McMansion material. Owner would have been better off building a smaller but higher quality place. They went for quantity over quality. A lot of mansion owners go bankrupt because these places cost a fortune to maintain. If someone is going to buy a mansion, they want to customize it for themselves, that is why they are so hard to sell. They can get a lot more money subdividing the property, especially these days.

Hi, watching from Massachusetts. This house is spectacular, but I love the kitchen. Big enough for any size family. The indoor pool was awesome too. The theater was a nice touch, who wouldn’t love to have this in their home? That master bedroom was the size of my living room, my dining room and my kitchen rolled into one. LOL. One of your best homes YET . . those bedrooms in the basement were probably for the "house staff" . . . a home that size would have to have SEVERAL people to take care of it - maybe a Nanny for the kids, too. A chauffeur, groundskeeper and a couple maids, too.

Watching from Australia. Fav was the stairs and I liked the formal dine with the half wall half wallpaper it was very regal. I also found it surprising to leave the wedding dress behind. I’ve been married 20 years and my wedding dress is special to me. Unless they divorced or something. I find it so strange when people don’t empty a whole house? I guess I have always sold a house and someone else planned on moving in after so I always moved out then cleaned the whole house then handed over.

My kids had that same Alligator in the 80s. One day at the Beach both girls 7&8 we're "riding" it where the surf meets the shoreline And Laughing Hysterically!! Well our pittie Rottweiler mix thought they were being attacked by the Alligator and in a lightening streak he was down there grabbed the "Alligator" by the throat & shook him till he was completely deflated. He dragged it up the beach to me so proud he had saved His Girls🐾😅

Just did a house in Barrington with a massive pool house like this 3 story had to build a platform to paint and drywall the ceiling had a bathroom in it sitting sria with a fire place it's own hot tub and 2 entrances from the living room with a clear glass railing balcony way amazing

I’m in Michigan and freezing! That sauna would feel wonderful about now. My favorite part was that double staircase. How grand and spectacular. Talk about a first impression! The master bedroom is my dream bedroom and I bet it was stunning in its day. The outdoor balcony and the theater room were both a close second. However if that waterfall and water feature by the driveway, was on I have no doubt that it would be my most favorite thing. This estate would be gorgeous for a wedding venue. You have shown me how to appreciation architecture and to see the beauty in it. It’s not always pretty but it sure is beautiful. Thank you!❤
