There s has never been such a classic on TV. There are so many underlying stories in each of the episodes. With this direction, Shankar nag attained a cult figure among all his contemporaries. He is gone too soon, left for heavenly Adobe at 36. When he created master piece, he was just 32, cast and crew were mostly native Kannada speaking actors, Yet made all of the characters speak Hindi so effortlessly. Be it consumes, dialogues, location, editing, and total presentation was just outstanding. Having miffed with his earlier adaptation of one of his stories Guide, RK Narayan so convinced about malgudi days that, he complemented key characters exactly the same what he imagined to be. That is the greatness of Shankar, who left no stone unturned to make it a classic.
