I am not malian, but I would be careful to quickly qualify them as terrorists. I believe the Tuareg are an ethnicity. Yes they have performed acts of terrorism, but if you are looking for a lasting peace, I believe you need to allow them rule themselves . I could be wrong.

Before saying the Malian government squashed the accord talk about the rebel/terrorist groups who said they are not in the accord first and continued terrorist attacks on the civilians without the so call mediator saying a word about it. The Malian government notified them countless time about this situation. You can’t pretend to be a mediator and when one party violates the agreement you don’t set them straight. There was no point in continuing with something that was doomed to fail in the first place. And these terrorist groups are rooming free on the Algerian territory where they plan all of their attacks against Malian civilians and territory. Talk about being a firefighter arsonist.

I used to respect Algeria for supporting the Sahara west independence. It seems Algeria is trouble. Both Algeria and Mali are close to Russia and should work together. Algeria should take a neutral stance in regional conflicts instead of trying to get heavily involved. I'm behind Mali and AES

Point of difference: Algeria considers that there are three branches of Azawad. The first branch is a terrorist affiliated with Al-Qaeda and Algeria is against it. The second branch is separatist and is not supported by Algeria. It does not want any chaos on the border. The third branch opposes the military regime and demands its rights, and this is what Algeria supports. Therefore, you find, for example, Sheikh Mahmoud Dicko close to the Algerian regime, while the military council does not want to listen to Algeria’s advice to prepare elections. It wants to continue to control, and this is a fact that no one denies. Recently, even Russia withdrew Wagner from the Sahel in accordance with its diplomatic agreement with Algeria, but the military council continues to rebel....🫥

Why won’t Algeria mind its business since Mali have in no way interfered into its internal issues. Algeria has no right to call for elections in Mali. There have been lots of accusations on Algeria’s support and funding of terrorism in the sahel.
