Thanks for sharing another great painting video. Your comment about focusing on having fun and not worrying if the painting will turn out because the exploration is enjoyable was something I needed to hear.

Trees in the foreground don't always work for me--except when they do. Palm trees are simple silhouettes and really enhance this painting. It just says 'Quintessential So Cal' to me. Beautiful painting Michael.

This was fun to watch you approach a scene for the first time! I loved what you said about a feeling of joy. I often have pondered how I am attempting to communicate my love for the scene. Glad you pulled over and the cars in the background weren’t an issue for me as I watched. Thank you, Michael! Great outcome!

That's all that matters is that the artist feels joy after creating a painting. That joy will transfer to the viewer/buyer. XO Beautiful painting, Michael!!!

Off the bat amazing opening shot with the backdrop of the foliage. It can be so difficult in landscapes sometimes to find a variation and placement that excites the painter’s eye.

I always feel like I should take a formal painting class or something to learn basic skills, like how to see a painting before its painted
@chamberlainpaintings5 ай бұрын
I don’t have any formal training. I learned mostly from books and trial and error. My technique is a combination of traditional techniques and techniques discovered through practice.

@@chamberlainpaintings your technique, or artistic skill, is wonderful. your friendly and comfortable approach to the videos is very engaging, especially for an aspiring painter like myself. It's always a pleasure to watch you make a fabulous painting out of the early chaos of the rough-in. I have a hard time getting past that point in my own pieces!
