Slide out fridge is excellent. Easier to get to items. I have Wellhouse van love all the things you pointed out, we looked at swift but Wellhouse so much better finishes.

I have to drive a boxer for work occasionally. We all try to avoid it where we can, why are they so popular for conversion?

They're so popular because of their reasonably low price compared to other base vans and also the straight sides and roof meaning greater space inside and easier to fit out. If you look at the shape of a sprinter or crafter/MAN TGE for example, they are teardrop shaped to be more aerodynamic but this makes them smaller inside. The boxer/ducato also is wide enough to sleep transverse without modification, whereas the crafter/sprinter needs something adding to be able to do that (pop outs, fibreglass pods etc).

The Monza looks a serious contender for a Cali although the interior is a little too glitzy for my taste. I guess there is a table in the back; a bit inconvenient.

Hi- at the moment, we only have Dethleffs campervans on the Fiat Ducato base. The VW models are currently estimated for mid 2025. I hope this helps! 😃
