Malice Mizer is just great! They were so extra, but their music (at least for me) evokes such strong emotions. My favourite is probably their live performance of ''Aegen'' they played on the Merveilles concert.

Im not sure how much research into these guys you did, so I don't want to come into your comment section repeating info you know- BUT you treated this really influential band with such respect and wonderment. This style is pretty campy and tacky to a lot of people but I find it just as beautiful as you do and really appreciate the perspective you provided. Definitely recommend more of their work, and many of the surviving band members went on to have solo careers.

Now watch Illuminati LIVE from the same show. You will see a VERY different and equally visually stunning side to this band. They are not a one size fits all group. You mentioned Bowie, Közi (the red one) always reminds me of Bowie. Thank you for such a thoughtful and observant reaction to a great musical group who were arguably one of the most influential groups in Japanese music.
