This movie was hilarious. Gabriel's face reveal and him going, "Rahhhh", for one and the jail scene where Madison's face is just chillin in the back while Gabriel kicks ass in the front...lol...OMG

I knew Madison was adopted when they her sister showed up and she's blonde. You know what I found distracting was the rookie female medical examiner flirting/crushing on the lead police detective. "cuz she pushed him in the back of her mind" you didn't catch the pun you made 🤣 it's beautiful. This movie is based off of Edward Mordake who was 23 years old that killed himself because he had a evil twin in his head that would whisper evil things to him at night and he begged doctors to remove it. But they never did. I thought it was cool that they made a movie based off of him.

Enjoyed the review as always! While I'm not a fan of sad or dark endings, I really feel that a stronger ending would have been if Madison chose to kill herself because she realized that she wouldn't be able to keep Gabriel in that mind prison forever...eventually he would overcome her and use her body to murder people again. Woulda been really potent if during the final scene where Madison and her sister are embracing, she reaches for the gun, explains what she has to do despite her sister pleading not to...and BLAMMO! 😢 And one other thing bothered me....out of all of those cops shooting at Gabriel in this movie....not ONE shot landed! Piss po' shooting.

This review is SPOT ON! I'm so glad to see y'all review this because I've spent nearly an entire week now trying to process why it's not for me. A horror soap opera is the perfect way to describe it. I wish he would've made it camp or not. I'm not sure why he toed the line. I found it more annoying than fun. I was frustrated with the lack of continuity, the first 2 acts we see the murders from a perspective as if Madison isn't physically there, but the 3rd act they drop the rouze and decide to show her physically killing people (which I suspected all along) and nearly invincible??? What? How??? This just wasn't it for me.

I liked this movie. I swear I've heard that continuous song that was playing before. And, I liked it. It sounds like fantasy horror music. I wish the kills were more creative and not so quick. Like the man in the bathtub. It's 2021. Let's stop with showing certain kills play out, and then just showing certain people dead, but not how the got that way. I thought this movie was comical. And, the twist was good. My favorite part was the jail scene. Thought that was pretty lit! 🔥🔥

I just got through this today and it was a boiling, molten hot mess. So much took place that wasn’t even remotely possible irl. Anyway, one scene that made me smh was when she finally locks Gabriel in her brain-cell, lol, not an orderly, doctor, nurse, hospital staff/admin is anywhere in sight. I just rolled my eyes. Like, really? You all just tore up the hospital room and no one came running? Another scene that I simply sighed at was when the sister was talking to the detective while driving to the hospital, jail, Chile who knows… anyway, instead of good directing/filmmaking she pretty much sums up why everything is happening.
@jaymanuel33963 жыл бұрын
I watched it on HBO Max Friday. I enjoyed it for the most part, but it was not perfect. It had way too much going on. Some head scratching moments: Why does the sister go to a creepy abandoned hospital, at freaking night? Why does a hospital leave patient medical records, still neatly filed away in the basement? How does this ninja demon kill off a police station full of cops and inmates, but does NOT kill ONE cop, during a foot chase? Really, just push in the twin in the skull and zip it, no problem? I mean I had a great time gagging and hollering, but I also had a Long Island Tea! Glad to see Nick back home. ❤️❤️

You guys hit the nail on the head with this review. This movie was terrible and all over the place. I was upset because the beginning with the boyfriend and the way he was killed had me like oh man this is about to be great but then... BIG FLOP! The main actress is a terrible actress to me, at least in this film. When Gabrielle firsts start talking to her and she says.... Gabrielle NO! And he's like aha I knew you remembered me, I was like omg sooo corny lmfao. The funniest part of this movie was when she went to the cops to tell them she saw a murder and they had a sketch artist draw him... man I cracked up at the picture. I just shook my head at this entire crap of a movie. The most interesting thing was the Seattle underground thing, I didn't know about that and it's something cool to see one day.

I love Italian giallo films, and I appreciated James Wan attempting to make something campy like those. However tonally is all over the place. The acting is cringy and over the top. Which is common in Italian giallo. But it didn't work well here. Some of the gore is wonderful, the 3rd act is so entertaining I nearly forgot how bad the rest I f the movie was. The parasitic twin twist was pretty crazy and good. The body control aspect was cool but at times funny, which I don't think they intended it to be funny.

I appreciate the effort put into this, the attempt of originality, but i thought Malignant was awful. I hated some narrative decisions, the tone, the music was out of a trashy techno thriller movie and the villain's movements and fights are similar to a Matrix film. It is an involuntary action comedy giallo movie.
