I don't know whats going on with the jury voting of the ESC for this great song which has been performed perfectly and the lyrics just amazing. Heartbreaking and warm as the usual ESC Songs used to be but with more modern beats. But to me this ESC 2022 looked more like a political decission against Germany than as a fair vote for this fantastic song. No one can understand why Malik Harris only got 6 points by phone votes and zero by jury. They should change the jury members and let the people listen to that music, being the more important part of the voting. The jury for each country should be voted for by the citizens as well, just to make sure that no politicial or other influence will take part within the judgement. Der Song muss so präsentiert werden, was er am Ende des Tages ist. Sehr intimes Setting. Nur Malik und seine Gedanken. Klein. Weniger ist mehr. Der NDR neigt dazu aus Liedern etwas zu machen, was sie nicht sind und somit wirds schnell unglaubwürdig.

@@malikharris ich bin absolut nicht der Meinung, daß die Pause stört. Im Gegenteil. Ich seh die Pause... mit dem Donner und wenn du sagst Pause and Restart.. als eine Art Bridge. Der Song nimmt danach wieder an Fahrt auf. Die Pause könnte eventuell 2-3 Sekunden kürzer sein. Aber stören tut sie mich nicht. Sie hebt die Spannung und man fragt sich. Was kommt jetzt?

I really don't understand why this song didn't even make the top 10 during ESC. Especially as it is expressing an emotion that we all are feeling to some degree (at least in my experience). The mourning for the past before Covid and before so many other awful things. In the last few years the world just kept giving and giving and now we want back to easier, simpler and most of all happier times. Such an emotional song. Well done. But maybe ESC just didn't know how to deal with so many honest emotions.
