Two days passed and I still cannot understand this song got only 6 points. It gave me chills when I first listened. It really touch somewhere in my heart. When we were kids, we always dreamed big like becoming rockstars and so on. Now we almost dont dream at all. Malik, do what you know the best. This is a great song and you have amazing voice. It is derivative, generic, uninspired radio pop schlock drenched in cheap nostalgia about "remembering how times used to be". You can't go more clichee and hacky in songwriting than that. I knew we were destined for the bottom three once again when I first heard it. It is infuriating that the people responsible for our pre-selection still value generic radio consons music over something more unique with profile and character. This was a loud fart of NOTHING.

My guess is that the audience vote is just for the money. You pay to vote for your favourite artist but then if you're unlucky it won't even count for anything because the overall audience of your country voted for other artists. You basically did nothing while Eurovision gets the money

I totally agree with you that criticism is important, but by saying 'it is bad', you don't help the artist (who has a lot of potential) grow. And it also doesn't take away the fact that his performance moved a lot of people, which is also an important aspect of a song for many people..

It's suitable for radio and other "light entertainment" environments. For the category "best song" it's way too generic, for "artistic representation" just aswell - it's nothing new or impressive to a minimalistic setup. And in the category "best composition" it outright fails due to being based on some generic instrumental with generic melody. Like almost every pop musician over the course of the last 20 years already had a couple takes on this exact style. Nothing worth giving a price, basically just another radio tune you hear only half while at work or standing in a traffic jam

Guys, it's not as bleak as it seems, we don't really know the true score for German songs, because the Eurovision scoring system does not care about accuracy for any song not in the top 10 ... for example, imagine if every single country placed Germany on 13th place by the number of votes they received from public ... MATH says Germany is on 13th place ... sadly Germany will end up on the last place because 13th place gets zero points same as the very last 25th place ... Scoring used only tell us no one thought Germany was in top 10 not that it was the last or the worst song ... because statistics and math do not work accurately with this system ... for the practical reason scoring only cares and is accurate for the top 10 ...

The German oeaipke aren't guilty for being almost the biggest country ( by number of inhabitants) and having such an important role in economy. They can't size themselfs smaller. IMHO it's a special kind of jealousy.

Naja Ohrwurm würde ich jetzt nicht sagen. Wie oft hab ich aus meinem Bekanntenkreis die Frage gehört, wie der Song nochmal geht. Den Song kannste neben der Arbeit gut im Büro hören oder unterwegs im Auto, mehr aber auch nicht. Das DE damit (auch ohne Krieg) unter den letzten 5 landen würde, hatten richtige Experten (nicht die vom NDR) bereits vorausgesagt. Wäre vielleicht gut gewesen etwas nicht radiotaugliches zu Wählen und damit etwas mutiger zu sein. Aber ganz ehrlich, ich guck mir den Quatsch nicht mehr an. Meinetwegen können die auch das Geld der ÖR sparen und gar nicht mehr antreten.

Oscar Loya I somewhat agree. No the performance did not WOW, it was however simple and raw without feeling cheap. Which is probably harder to achieve than one would think. Some of the others were just trying to do to much and be different, resulting in some of them feeling shallow.
