We flew back to the US from the Pan American Highway to spend the summer. Our friends at ‪@FourWheelCampers‬ gracious lent us a rig for our time here. We picked up the truck and attended their Norcal Owners Rally in Grass Valley, California with our friends ‪@BoundForNowhere‬ and ‪@greggboydston9562‬ and met many new friends there. Thanks! We only had the truck camper thru Mexico and Canada for the first 15 months. The Casita was added for only about 10 months while we were in the states before we went to Europe.

I love to see you guys back to 4wc! After I watched you guys video 3 years ago, I purchased used one and travel around U.S with my wife and 3girls (not full time) but great memories. Next summer, we are planning to go north for 3wks with camper:) thanks and welcome back!

Thanks! Yeah Tacomas have notoriously low load capacities. But with some mods to the suspension and gearing, a lot of people do make it work. We have many fond memories of our grandby as well!

Cool. Always loved the Four Wheel Campers, especially since I grew up camping in pop up truck campers. Curious how you like driving the ram 3500 after all these years of riding in the sprinter.

It is definitely very different than the sprinter. Visibility isn't quite as good but much more heavy duty.

You stated something that I've been thinking for the last two years. This market is completely saturated and way too many new companies have gotten into the game - most of which build the new wedge-style camper. After the shiat hits the fan and this "overlanding" fad is over, FourWheel Campers will be one of the only ones still standing.

Oev are such a better made camper. No comparison

A lot of people like to compare FWCs to OEVs. So here is my opinion on that comparison. They've only been building OEVs for 4 years vs. FWC's 52 years. Lite Industries has been building other transportation products for a bit longer but not the OEV. Because they have only existed since then, those inflated pandemic prices are the norm for them and they are still charging these prices even in these post COVID market conditions. When someone decides to develop new products they are supposed to try to improve on the original. Which is what OEV did and that's great. But there can only be one original. Time will tell who is still around in another 50 years. We have several friends who bought OEVs. One lives in it full time with another being an official OEV dealer. Neither of them paid full retail for different reasons. I don't think they would own them if they had to. Just my impression. They are well made but at twice the price, you don't get twice the camper. So definitely no comparison. If I had to put a number to it, I've been in a lot of OEVs, I'd say they are worth maybe 20-25% more. Definitely not 100%. Someone can buy a Grandby Flatbed like this one and take the extra $36,000 and immediately drive south for 2 years across the Pan American Highway. FWCs have proven themselves to be more than capable for a trip like this straight from the factory. Or for the same price, someone can buy an OEV Hudson Bay and just brag to friends and neighbors about how much better it is from their driveway. I know which options is more fulfilling for me. But if you've got enough money to do both, go for it.

I was a film student in LA when I discovered your channel back in 2016. Now I'm living in Shanghai China. Feeling life becomes more or less stagnant. Urban life is really unhealthy for mental well-being. I'm currently applying for a work visa/PR status for Alberta Canada. Hopefully one day I will live a similar lifestyle like yours. Even that day is in my late 40s or 50s. We live in a chaotic world, but still maybe our dream is worth pursuing.
