During the performance of Ravel, some player showed their smiles. After Ravel, all percussion smiled a lot. It means they really enjoyed Ravel with Samuel.

Formidable! It's rare for a conductor to bring an entire symphony orchestra with him to such an extent as here. The musicians and Lee clearly enjoy their artistic collaboration, which swings Ravel's glorious La valse to its ecstatic dancing maximum - elegant and dramatic! Yes, Samuel Seungwon Lee was the well-deserved winner of the Malko Competition.

Oh my gosh I’ve never seen any orchestra so altogether deeply immersed and fun to play With a conductor. Everyone is doing their best to deliver this man’s magic wand is picturing!!!!!!

Fortunately this orchestra could play this with no one on the podium. A lot of arm waving and not much clarity, but lots of enthusiasm. He was my fourth, maybe fifth choice. But then we did not see all the other rounds and rehearsal work, either. This would be difficult to judge.
