wow what an incredible collection!! i liked the little tips + tricks sprinkled in, esp the carnivorous plant fertilizer tip i'm going to start using that ty. i just discovered those elephant foots at a cacti show recently, they're amazing. the fact your wife "isn't a cactus person" but her yard looks like this cracked me up, very sweet.

Thanks, I’ve been growing plants for almost 20 years so it is always a work in progress. You’re welcome for the carnivorous plant feeding tip, I wish I could remember who I got that one from. I think I read it on one of the carnivorous plant Facebook groups. Huge game changer for sure. My wife appreciates a particularly beautiful plant as much as the next person of course, I only meant that she’s not really the gardening type in general. It’s not for all of us of course. She does all of the video editing and comes up with many of the video ideas. I think the plants have grown on her for sure though because more and more often it seems, she goes to the back to “appreciate the garden”. ❤️😁

What an amazing garden. Definitely might be worth phasing out that BBB in some of the pots and planting something new. Those Lumberjack in ground are looking really nice. The Sass and Ichoca definite stand outs. Finger crossed for some Shamans Garden crosses.

Yep, sure do. 😂 This is how we’ve managed to send over 6,000 packages since 2015, albeit being a relatively small operation. The SoCal weather definitely helps too, I like to say it’s like cheating at the horticulture game. Thanks for watching bro!

Awesome plants. I have a growing collection, most are very young and the biggest only just over 2 feet. I recently got a Bridgesii Eileen cut. The spines are incredible like double length toothpicks.

If you will your dream then it is a dream no more. On point 🌵😎👍 Couple questions, I have a Mallacht Cut from last year that's 4 feet including the pot with crazy long spines. Transplanting this beef stick is a bit out of my wheel house. Any suggestions? Also what kind of fertilizer do you use and how often? 🙏

Beautify Cacti! Curious what you do to prevent pests and fungal disease?
@mallachtsplants Жыл бұрын
Very little nowadays. I’m convinced that my organic amendments topper that I use is not only deterring most insects, but essentially curing pathogenic activity in some plants as well. We have a video on “how I mix dry organic amendments” - you should check it out when you get a chance

HOw old are all those san pedros and pc's?
@mallachtsplants Жыл бұрын
Many different ages. I’ve been growing these plants since 2006 so some of them are that old, some a lot less. I still receive new plants regularly. Also, knowing how old a clone is, very difficult. Since a clone is the same age as the mother plant it was cut from, many times there is no telling how old the original mother plant is.

PC is a type of San Pedro.

Pachanoi, Peruvianus and Macrogonus are all one and the same. In a way, this could be said about all trichocereus because they have the same flowers and can interbreed. All share a common ancestor and have adapted physical attributes to suit their given environments. The many habitats and large span of trichocereus species that exist indicate that this plant has had some help traversing long distances and has almost certainly been cultivated by human beings for much longer than what is documented. All can be genetically identified by their DNA but macrogonus, pachanoi and peruvianus are almost indistinguishable in that remark.
