Robles is definitely going to be huge for the mallards on both sides of the field. They really need Davenport or Wilson to step up at the plate though. They left way too many runners on base.

Yeah that third spot is the X Factor for the Mallards, Irwin's in the mix as well. Wilson has the best track record but he strikes out a ton, and with TC3 and Robles carrying most of the load, you need that third guy to be able to get on base.

@@ajculum723 I actually have some of this data! In 2020 his BABIP was .300, which was actually below average (MLW league average BABIP is usually around .375). Last season it was 1.000, but that was only three batted ball events. The big things that changed were his K% and BB%, they went from 41% and 38% in 2020, to 77% and 9% in 2021. Wilson needs to get those ratios closer to 2020 for the Mallards to unlock their potential.

Absolutely. Drew is much better as a starter than a reliever, and often doesn’t do well pitching in high pressure situations. If Sawyer can come in relief and perform like he did in Game 1, that’ll be great for the Cobras

If he's not going to start, then Baron should get probably rights at the first two to get hot or not and the rook gets the last one or two if Baron isn't on. Drew plays best from the start always, and I thought that literally was hella smart.

Little bit inconsistent during the third game, with a couple of walks, but he could be a great closing pitcher on the future - someone in the comments was suggesting a 2/1 rotation, where the Baron pitches the first two innings of each game and Behen pitches the last inning.

Drew Davis clearly did not touch home plate on that walk-off home run. He should have been called out for leaving the base path, thus negating Flynn's run and extending the game into the 5th inning. I understand this is just "whiffle ball" but my friends at the polo club will never take you seriously until you start enforcing the rules, and if you cannot, then hire someone who will. I am hereby offering my umpiring services for £5,000 per game plus airfare for travel each and every week. This seems like a fair deal considering the potential growth your sport has.

As a self-proclaimed MLW Analyst, here are my thoughts on the series; -I really started watching the league in 2020, so I haven't seen a good Mallards team. I believe that is going to change. Not to overthink the first series of the year, but the postseason drought ends this year. Robles looks incredible, feels like I didn't see him strike out all series, but Mallards should keep it up. -Not gonna lie, Drew Davis impressed me. It feels like he is very comfortable with his squad and was actually making managmentorial moves during the season. It's obviously not a good move putting himself in and giving up 4 runs but still, even though it is quite annoying, you have to love the attitude and energy they bring. -Not sure if anyone else caught it, but at one point in Game 1, I'm pretty sure I saw Drew stealing signs at second, looking at the back of the pitcher's hand, and relaying a message to the batter. Not sure if it is cheating, but they ended up losing the game soooooo
