Mallorca: Hotel CRISIS, Airport FAILURE & Ryanair APOLOGISE

Hi Alex We missed you twice during the holiday, you either sat and filmed just before or just after we had been to 2 locations that you were sat at 😂 we arrived back in the UK yesterday afternoon. Airport was absolutely fine, no issues, plain sailing straight through and out to our plane. Was a sad scene at Bristol airport though when we arrived back on our shuttle bus to collect our car, an American had hired a rental car and drove straight out on the wrong side of the road head on into a shuttle bus that we couldn't manage to board before ours, a lot of ambulance and police crew, looked pretty nasty the damage to the rental car and bus.. hoping everyone came out of it OK. Back to British weather. Sun's out, but I'm freezing compared to out there😂 Hope you are well and thanks again for your constant help and support for us all. Take care ❤

We were one of these passengers who got the flight canceled due to the thunderstorm. We had to sleep in the airport with our 4-year old daughter. No hotel rooms were available on that night. We also needed to book another flight at our own expense in order to be able to fly home earlier. We tried to get compensation for our extra expenditures.

There were no drinks nor meals provided to the passengers. We didn't get pillows and blankets as well. And tryst me, we looked anywhere for care package since we have a small child. At the end, we booked a standard room for 600 EUR/night without breakfast. This room price is beyond our budget but my husband decided to take it since our daughter cried non-stop due to pain and uncomfortable feeling from sleeping on the floor.

Thanks, Alex. This entitlement info. is very important. Receipts are also very important. I was stranded in China by a KLM engine failure, but the tecnical obligations were crystal clear, so I claimed and got a substantial compensation payment. Worry about claiming when you reach home. Meantime, keep receipts!

KLM are a reputable company and your delay was due to a engine failure so you should have received the compensation. If a airline companies insurance can blame the situation on anything remotely related to a act of God or war they will as these situations are the big get out clause in the insurance industry.

Good God Alex, thankfully we came in July but NOW people will not come back for some years,we returned after 30 odd years just to see,we will not return the middle/far east destinations are generally far better.

We were once delayed for 5 hours at madeira airport because of very windy weather, i tried to get compensation from tui but was told as it was bad weather, there's no compensation, well in the end i used one of the companies that do it it for you, yes i got £500 back, the companie took there cut, but my holiday cost £600 so it was nearly a free holiday.

So you would have been happy to fly when the pilot said it was not safe due to high wind would you . If pilot not happy , I’m happy to sit and wait until he is happy ,it’s not like a bus that can stop if it’s a weather issue.

Awful time after having our flight cancelled at the gate -earliest flight available was 6 days after…terrible organisation by the airport and airlines concerned…. managed to book a hotel room in Soller but when we got there it was flooded out…no rooms anywhere on the island so had to go back to the airport and lay on the floor….no flights out of Majorca so got a ferry to Valencia this morning then onward flight…horrible experience and never going back to this hellhole.

@@harris4018 some films aren’t accurate, created by AI and have been showing Menorca. I decided to make this video today to help people know their rights and suggest improvements at the airport. I can’t now jump in the car and drive around the island. It’s just me doing this channel. It would also be costly and time consuming to do so as it’s all fine around the south west. Unfortunately I believe that the airlines are able to avoid remunetarive responsibility if the cause of delay is classed as a ‘force majeure (act of god)’, that is to say, something completely beyond their control, like the weather. 😢

Compensation and Duty of Care are two different things. They have to provide accommdation, repayment of reasonable costs and the quickest route home by bookable transport. Not leave customers high and dry. Compensation is an additional payment and not as you say applicable here.

Claime off the airline the airline reason for not paying your claim. The flight was cancelled do to a act of God. Good look with your endeavours at getting your money back but I wouldn't hold my breath.
