The baby was not well and wasn't thriving when born so he spent a month in the hospital. They showed his face to his mom thru video calls and she recognised him on screen. Then they brought him back and we all saw their sweet reunion ❤️

The truth is that about 30% of the time they don't recognize their babies once they've been separated. Happens a lot in large prey animals, specifically horses. If the baby doesn't smell enough like the mother and tries to get near her she'll kick or bite them which can sometimes be fatal depending on where the calf is. But I'm glad this one went well.

They still remember. Almost every dairy farmer takes the calf away from the mother soon after birth and hook the mom up to the milking machines. Imagine the trauma that those animals are subjected to! It is so inhumane what the food industry is doing to all kinds of livestock.

This was a beautiful video.. but yes in reality usually the babies take it away it's very very sad.. I had a chance to go up to Woodstock New York there is a farm up there where they take care of all the animals and they do a very good job of it.. it was a very nice place to visit and I enjoyed all the animals.. they don't mistreat them there and they also take donations so if you're ever in the area please feel free to visit and no I don't know anybody there I just had the pleasure of visiting and I loved the experience and you will too

The bond between a cow and calf is so strong I respect farmers who leave dairy calves with Mom, this method is mentally and physically healthier then removing a new born calf within the first day or two. The farmer is able to milk the cow with her calf by her side, ensuring there is still enough milk for the calf to grow and thrive

The baby had pneumonia you can see in the shot right after the phone there was a breathing tube tied to her with the rainbow rope, and pneumonia is very dangerous especially to animals who can't just take themselves to the hospital, glad they payed attention and found she was sick before it got a lot worse
