I can't believe this was cut off for the live broadcast. I would've been happy to have just listened to this song for the full two hours!

One thing that made me feel good in this song was the relationship between Chris Thile and Fantastic Negrito. Fantastic Negrito was a guest musician on this edition of Prairie, and Chris joined his group for Fastastic Negrito's "In the Pines" number. Here, Fantastic Negrito joins what is clearly Chris' group, is a delight, but, in some way, isn't as comfortable joining another group in an ad-lib way as Chris is. At the end, Fantastic Negrito, who clearly enjoyed the number, seems to want to shake Chris' hand, but the handshake doesn't quite work our right. I was glad to see Chris take note of what happened, and made an effort to make sure that the hand shake gesture was responded to, and made it clear that Fantastic Negrito was accepted as a full fledged part of this particular musical effort.

If JJ Cale was playing it beyond cool this is pretty hot. Guess Nicola Paganini is sitting up there clapping at Chris Thiele.

Britt cuts Sarah to shreds without even trying later on -- there's nobody quite like her.
@wallybass67167 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, but Chris does make sure that Brittany gets her (superb) turn after Rich Dworsky's (superb) turn on the (superb) Hammond B-3, and the whole session has really reach a superb climactic high at the point. At which time Brittany absolutely does not disappoint. I think it was better this way, whether that was by design or by accident.

But Chris says "sara watkins don't allow..." at 0:15! It's Sara's solo!
@sillystrings5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely don't see the need to to pit these two amazing musicians against each other. Chris clearly calls Sara's name at the beginning. No one's robbing anyone.

If you throw Garrison to the wayside, if you change the name of the show, then I will never have anything to do with you again.

Spencer Roten I disagree. The artists do have quite a bit of power. But my comment is to the management.

Worst version of this song I have ever heard. Bing Crosby did it better than this mess.
