We call it sofrito in Puerto Rico. Recao is one of the herbs included (culantro). Loved this video 🥰🇵🇷

I think it depends whats in it, because in the store I noticed the one that's green is recao the one that has some color because of the red pepper and onions is sofrito.

@@vanessamodeste3584 did you think this is all our seasoning in Puerto Rico? 😂😂😂 we have sofrito, adobo, sazón, sal, ajo we put so many stuff you just have to go to Puerto Rico, the dish and all of the seasoning they used in this video is not what we Puerto Ricans use 😂 she’s not full Puerto Rican and she didn’t grew up in Puerto rico they assume that’s how is done but here in Puerto Rico we don’t cook like gringos 🤷‍♀️ all the Caribbean islands have the best taste in food because of our ancestors and our rich culture. ❤🌴🌺

Sister, I’m 100% Puertorican living in the island and I don’t know how to cook these dishes either. It’s my 2022 resolution to learn how to make some pasteles and arroz con gandules from my mother in law. Btw, if you are puertorican, please don’t skip on learning how to dance Bomba. Then, pass it on to the next generations. 🤗

You see that green stuff she added with the culantro... in Trinidad and Tobago we call that green seasoning... and we use that to season our meat, poultry and fish....

Garcelle make us some Accra Fritters and Griot please! Also, Chicken Stew. Haitian Style Chicken Stew is similar to Puerto Rican but no carrots or potatoes but onions, red/green peppers and some nice spicy kick! FYI Haitians make the Best Fried Fish in the world. They have mastered Frying Fish and White Rice. The white rice is simple but soooooooo goood!

Hola chula I’m Puerto Rican and those are not even our seasoning 😳😳 where’s the sofrito? Adobo, sazón, Ajo, cilantro ? Y todo lo que le metemos al arroz con pollo… I’m Puerto Rican 100% born and raised and still living here and that’s not how it’s done in Puerto Rico 😱🇵🇷 nope nope

My parents are Cuban, so I guess we make our arroz con pollo differently. My mother’s always involved a couple of chicken boullion cubes, white cooking wine, yellow saffron rice (VERY important), pimientos, chopped onion, and peas. And we never put beans with it.🤷🏻‍♀️

I make that Spanish rice and the chicken boullion adds tons of flavor! I was just thinking tho… I think you would need more water for the rice? I add 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water. But this looks good.:: gotta try it.

@@drtash21 The appearance differs according to individual preference. I like my jollof rice colourful so I prepare mine to have that reddish appearance. But, I've seen others whose jollof rice is as pale as what Adrienne's mom prepared.

Arroz con Pollo is Delicious. I add Extra Sofrito and more Herb Seasonings. U can add Beans to the rice too for more Protein.
