This is the first time I was able to sit and watch this video. I truly enjoyed it. Your work is so beautiful! I like the setup of your sewing space. Seek g the train come through the town at your front window, reminds me of my family homestead. And I must say the music was also great. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent with us. I truly appreciate it. Peace and blessings.

Beautiful work. I like the reminder that it's okay to just roll with it when we end up on plan B, C, D, etc. If you ever feel like sharing French seam pockets, I'd be interested!

To iron the velveteen - Just put a thick towel down and steam the velveteen over that, pile side down, using with very little pressure. And always decide which side of velveteen is up and use a “with nap” layout. If you don’t, you will have sections of your garment that are a different colour. Merry Christmas! I have 4 daughters and you make me remember the dresses I made for my girls - one who has 3 grandchildren now (which makes me a great grandma). Several more are in the “planning phase”. You know what I mean they keep mentioning “when we have kids”, or “we will have kids as soon as we get married” or “yeah, we are really planning for kids” and “xyz’s (oldest grandson) kids are so cute and so well behaved. That makes me laugh thinking anyone’s kids are well behaved. They will adapt their idea of well behaved to well enough behaved. lol. ❤❤

Thank you so much for posting this today. I watched it while cleaning up the kitchen from an early Christmas dinner. (Hubby works tomorrow.) It filled me with joy, and I loved the music. So relaxing. The dresses are stunning as usual. And the girls' love for them is quite visible. It warm the heart. Merry Christmas 🎄✨️

I love the swarovski buttons. What kind of button is it, and where did you buy them?

the swarovskis are just beads, and finding them is a hot mess. for buttons, mother of pearl or covered buttons are generally what I stick with for formal things, and everything is from farmhouse fabric. it's linked int he description box. thanks!

Hi Sarah. I met you when we both belonged to the Orange Blossom Stitchers in Maitland, FL. I love all your videos - your sewing and smocking are beautiful. I wonder if you can recommend a pattern for a full smocked bodice (shoulder to upper waist) for young girl size 6-7?

hey there Charmayne! how are you? Soo here's an older video, but basically, I would smock up your fabric and then match it to a pattern you already like. hope it helps :-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXLUgWipqNSjoZI

I iron Velveteen exactly the same way I iron Velvet - I don't. Steam steam steam. On a velvet board if you have one (I don't) so I use a thick plush terry towel and a VERY light press if absolutely no way to avoid.
