From what I have seen, Mamas Family never had an emotional and or controversial episode. There was an from what I heard an episode on elder abuse, but it never aired and or created by the producers.

Classic show from 1980s. I never skipped an ep, when new. This show needs to be on metv channel. The ep of Thelma getting her high school diploma was hilarious, as was the take on the old movie Rebecca.

Mama's family was so very different from my own, that I enjoyed stepping into their world to see "What's next?" *LOL* Actually, I have watched it as reruns & never saw it when it was first aired. I wish they had done at least five hundred more episodes. I collect pink flamingos, b/c of Mama! *LOL*

All you have to do now to avoid the copyright laws on youtube is to upload the video mirror image. If you have seen any full movies or tv shows of late, this is how they are staying up an not being deleted by the big production companies. It just looks a little odd at first since the sets seem backwards, but they will remain up on youtube. Who ever uploaded all the mama's family vids should do it again with the mirror image this time.

@jennpenn5 Well the reason they havent released season 2 on dvd is because people were complaining that the first season was edited and warner said that they didnt own the rights to the unedited version. Which is true for all seasons. Carol Burnett is the one who owns the rights to Mama's Family and NOT Warner Brothers!!!! Thats why they havent released any more seasons.

Wow, I forgot how bad this was. Carol must've been so pissed how her story became a cheap, low rate sicom. Shame on Vicki. It's an interesting character, but that Carol later regretted not making she got the rights to it in the divorce.'s not Mama. I always wondered why Vicki felt she had to change the original voice. And the laugh track?! My God what were they thinking?

Well, actually the first 2 Seasons of Mama's Family that appeared on NBC were much funnier and in front of a live audience and the writing was better. The syndicated show went down hill, but still good compared to most sit coms of the day.

ohmusicsweetmusic oh come on! For most fans season 3 is when the show started. The syndicated years are what skyrocketed Mama into cult status. There are so many classic episodes and the show got side splitting my funny. The focus of the show was much better and the characters were so endearing.
