Late 1992 or early 1993, it was during that TV season. Betty White mentioned they were doing Golden Palase and that aired only one year after the Golden Girls ended in 1992.

Beverly Archer hardly got any speaking time at all. Towards the end when Vicki was asking what they're all up to these days, when she got to Beverly, did she say "You're doing 'Major...'" before cutting her off. Was she referring to Major Dad, where Beverly portrayed GySgt. Alva Brickman? As far as I can recall, that show ended in 1993, which means that during the taping of this show it's still running. Anyway, Iola and Bubba were always my favorite characters on the show.

I really do love the ability to watch old shows and see comments and posts from other people underneath because it's amazing how much people notice that you yourself didn't notice. I remember watching this video when it was first posted before there were any comments and not really noticing any of the rudeness and snobbery that Vicki Lawrence engages in in this interview. Fastforward umpteen years later, the comment section is filled and I completely notice all of her rudeness and arrogance in this interview. It's all about her and her damn character. It's funny you all notice this because I got this same feeling of snobbery even before I saw these comments last year during the Mama's Family reunion for her DVD in 2013. They did roundtable talk about the show just last year. And it was so obnoxious how Allan Kayser and all these series beautiful uplifting remarks about Vicki and Vicki just sat there like she deserved it all, had nothing to say in response, not so much as a thank and just moved on to her accolades. it's clear that nothing has changed about this woman in 20 years. I like Mama but not Vicki Lawrence. And the supporting characters were a big reason for Mama's success but Vicki probably thought it was all about Mama.

I saw Vicki's original daytime talk show and parts have been edited out here...especially when Alan (Bubba) Kayser said he left show business to marry and become a minister. However, things turned out the opposite years later. Vicki appeared recently on a shopping channel to commemorate a holiday release of The Carol Burnett Show boxset.

I always loved this show, I still watch every evening on MeTv. When the character of Vinten came into the show, he was with his two grown kids. He acted smart, later, I always wondered why he turned so stupid. Even his voice changed. Then as time went on, his kids were gone.Made it seem as if they never had existed. When he and Skeeter later had their baby, seemed like the show forgot he had ever had kids. Even Skeeters voice went from 'smart' to high and silly.
