i feel like this (obviously) gives us more of an idea to what her mother was like & i feel like we never really knew what she was like. i really enjoy this song, but i also understand certain songs get cut for a reason.

Comments are about how this song tells us what Lydia’s mom was like (true), but it also says what kind of woman Charles Deetz loved. Now I get why he chose Delia.

This is such an amazing song, I wish they had kept it. Not only do we finally get to know Emily (indirectly), but it also feels to me like having fun with Beetlejuice reminds Lydia a little of having fun with her mom... Dangerous, yet fun things, totally free of any conventions. Also, Lydia is a lot like her mom, only.. sadder? (Well, obviously)
@anidleteen4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it makes us understand why Lydia wasn't scared of ghosts and literally teased a demon then made friends with him
@maiar22393 жыл бұрын
@@anidleteen Well, Lydia is a gothic girl and the Maitlands are not grotesque, on the contrary they were very normal, the typical middle class couple. In the movie, we never know how Emily was and even so, Lydia is quite comfortable with paranormal and unusual things, she only gets scared of things that are very threatening/dangerous (like BJ transformed into a huge snake).
@luisomarlagosandrade22984 жыл бұрын
Love her voice when she says "Yeah.... we were birds?" She knows its weird but its still something she remembers so fondly. Makes Lydia (and her mom) so adorable. I understand why it was cut, too many songs about Lydia missing her mom. Still Im right there with everyone else saying I wish they would have kept this (together with dead mom reprise and Charles singing in Running away)

i’m guessing this is VERY old footage, Sophia sounds so much more happy than in the newer footage of songs I think she gradually got tired of the hate and performing she just lost that emotion for singing. She’s so talented but she needed a break and that’s understandable
