Love the meal plan and cooking vids. - As for your laundry, maybe change the window into a glass door. You can get one with blinds inside the window pane so you can close it if you want or have it open so that the light coming in from your back door can flood in. Plus BONUS offers an easy drop off of dirty clothes from outside play!

When we had our house renovated we didn't want to go with builder grade stuff so we went with our own ideas but paid out of pocket for few things. Once the electrical plumbing and drywall went up everything started to move along. I was glad once everything was done because I had my house back.

Kim, don’t let them make excuses about roofline and the skylights. There are about a hundred different shapes they can they can use on different rooflines! Been there after three years of remodeling. I’m the one that told you to make the crew walk in your dryer duct work and any a/c duct work. I pretty sure everyone is going through this remodeling nightmare. It’s just hard to find good, honest, willing to make things right people anymore. It’s a shame.

If a regular skylight won't work because of roof line issues please ask them if you can do a Sun Tunnel Skylight. They let in so much natural light without taking the space of a normal skylight and I think they're more affordable too. Hopefully this can put some sun back into your laundry room room ☺️🌞☀️🌞🌻.

When my kids were little, I used to think that people are judging me for the way I keep my house too. The reality is, that is far from the truth. True friends understand you have a whole family to take care of, including a toddler and a baby so they usually don’t give it too much thought. It’s more the critique of ourselves that is the problem. Your house will eventually get to where you want it. Even when you get all the changes in place, you will still occasionally want to change it because your tastes are revolving. Honestly, the mess and chaos in your house does not bother me. Love the meal planning even though we may not always follow it.

Kim, have you thought about putting in a buffet to store your serving pieces and also use the top for serving. Just keep it simple with some big chunky tall candle holders and candles and a nice big piece of pottery with a mirror between them. Where your clock, a big artificial tree at least an 8’ would look great in a basket or heavy pot. That corner where your hutch is would look great with a corner unit a bit less country. Black chairs sound great, but they do scratch. A more natural finish won’t show so much wear and easy to touch up. I went black with the black kitchen set and the kids have scratched them. You can just repaint them as an option. I did, but if you repaint one chair, you have to repaint all of them.🤪

Kim, about your skylight. It does depend upon the roofline on getting a skylight however you should have been offered a tube light. It lets in sunlight anywhere! My husband was a contractor and we had our own business. Make sure you get credit for things that you’ve paid for. Also, I’d consult your contractor about the can lights. There is definitely enough room in the attic for them to run the wires. So sorry you’re having so many issues but that is pretty standard with all the subs you have working on your project. The contractor is the guy in charge and should be on top of that

If you are looking to not buy the huge jar of pineapple juice, they sell small jars here at Weis Markets. But I just made your recipe and bought a can of pineapple slices in pineapple juice. Used the juice for the recipe ( it had plenty) and grilled up the slices and had with the meal. Delicious! Thanks for your fun recipes, they always make me hungry!

Kim I am gonna give you a fast and easy recipe You need One big pork loin 4tbls of butter And you need two bottles of salsa verde In your crock put the 4tbls of butter in then set your pork loin on top of the butter Season I put cumin , pepper, garlic powder,onion power,chili powder Then pour the two bottles of salsa verde Over top Plug in crock cook on high till dinner time about 6-8 hours make some rice and some beans There ya go other eat on rice or put the meat in a tortilla or use it to make nacos

how much heat does a skylight let in with the Florida sun beating down on it?, might be a lucky escape? I think you mentioned you don't ahve a mudroom hallway, but you could close off that entry to the dining room as I think there's too access points (one next to the mirror) then you'd have more wall space in the hall for a hall tree or the like and or your french cabinet on the other side of what now it a hole in the wall. and i think the other door opening would still work as it's closer to the kitchen..not sure, just me two cents worth

Lovely to have your video. I think your builder is doing a job on you use to own and run a building company (Australia) I think they’re being lazy. Check your contract and stand your ground. They can do the light tube style (cheaper) if not the rectangle glass ones. Don’t believe what they say especially if you asked and they charged you on contact.

If you can't have a skylight, can you do a suntunnel? We have one in the kids' bathroom and it let's in so much light. We always think the light got left on. They don't have the same requirements as a skylight and they're a lot cheaper.

As a large family with visitors and buffets how about keeping your table and getting a carpenter to cut a large sheet of wood into an oval table to. We did this and I had it stained in my stain off choice then but 8 chairs to go round it. Oval tables are great and sociable. Our table was capable of seating 20 at one point
