I love what Bryan Loo mentioned that "keep moving/trying any alternatives that we have by focusing on the pace as an entrepreneur to start up a business to pivot higher in long run". This truly resonates with my understanding of carrying out a mission with a goal in mind to be a smart & wise leader in business.

He started Chatime with humble beginnings, that was the original intention at the first place. Nice to hear the story, hopefully he meant what he said on his action. 👍🏻

To be frank I understand the business is a success but I don't understand the supposed "gaps". When Malaysians say yamcha it's not just mamak sure that's the first thought but I had plenty of yamcha sessions at bars, homes, and the most popular dimsum. In fact that's the origin of Yamcha which was when family gathered originally from Guongdong province. So when he said I saw opportunity where Malaysians yamcha but no tea to drink...um what? No, we drank a lot. I think he just was good at marketing his tea better and boba bubbles were something of a novelty among the youth. It wasn't because he filled in any "gaps" in Malaysia, in fact when I ask my friends to Yamcha now we don't think " oh let's get bubble tea". No, it's still mamak and dimsum. Sometimes successful people don't even know why they are successful.

Marketing wise, its true. I dont drink both but often i only hear from tealive but not chatime. Its like chatime only still exist for the sake of existing but never had any intention to keep it relevant
