I agree. Its sad. Mamamax screwed up about this "game." my husband is japanese and i have learned japanese and write it and do calligraphy. I love the culture and have been from the north to the south when we got married in a shinto temple. His mom helped me even tie my wedding kimono and the prosession with the music ans priests made my heart sing. Ill never forger the sips of sake as husband and wife. Thanks for defending our culture. The cult is still alive and well in some parts of japan. The police are working hard to shut it down. Mamamax really messed up. I dont want to say his name or watch his channel anymore.

Yeah my wife is Japanese and both my kids are half Japanese. I lived there 15 years and loved it. There are small negative groups in every country but to make up fake stuff about what these groups are doing helps no one and further hurts victims. On top of it his young audience are impressionable and this might be their first intro to anything about Japan.

People who get into that pdf hunting business are always suspicious to me. That their mind goes there in the first place as something to do with their time is odd. Like sure, if you happen upon something in your daily life report it to the authorities, obviously, but to make it your pre-occupation always has me on alert. We have these vigilante groups in the UK and it's not uncommon for members of them to get busted and turn out to be exactly what they claim to detest and are trying to stop. Then the added layer of making it all up...... has me side-eyeing.

This is something that put me off MamaMax ages ago; the sarin gas attacks in Tokyo remain the deadliest domestic terrorist attack in the history of the country, but Asahara was (finally) put to death in 2018 and Aum Shinrikyo hasn't existed in the capacity it did under his rule since well before that. Implying that the organization has any kind of influence even within modern-day Japan, much less throughout the rest of the world, is beyond ridiculous-it's negligent, and I would venture so far as to call it racist. It's a sensationalization of one of the most heartbreaking events in a nation's entire history, and his viewers accepted it because he exoticized Japan so dramatically that they didn't even see it as being part of Earth anymore. Disgusting behavior from a disgusting person.

Finally, someone said it. I did not see any comments condemning Max, but I did see his videos on cults trying to recruit members through video games. That was the moment I understood that me makes up creepypasta type content for views. You also hit the nail on the head with Hotline Miami. The whole idea of that game is that the protagonists are bad guys. They are mind controlled sleeper agents that receive calls from a rogue gov element to do bad stuff.

But in the end I came here years ago for j pasta and true crime and stayed because I found aspiration for being a genuine dude. It's funny cause like almost a decade ago I originally found you're j pasta's because I've been working on a futurist urban fantasy occult horror blending yokai with standard fantasy tropes since I was a teen

What I don't understand about Mamamax is this: Whom exactly is his intended audience? His videos seem to assume that there are people out there that want to believe what he saying - to the point they will pay him through Patreon, which is worrying when what he is saying is so dystopian, that there is a 'predator' problem in Japan. It is not just his videos that worry me, it is the seeming willingness of people to believe him.

sounds like this person has never done any actual research about aum. i mean, tatsuya mori made two very good documentaries on the subject, [A] and [A2], and even count dankula has a mad lads video on asahara shoko. thinking you can just run up to aleph members, as if you could just find them easily, is absurd. i share your frustration. am sending you an email - reached out via facebook a long time ago, but will try this method instead. glad to see you still making videos!

While you obviously can choose the direction of your channel,- I personally love the honest way you approached things, and this goes back to your J-FAQs. I'm not saying you should go either direction, but I welcome content like this mostly because it's not a fluff piece, but just a realistic view of what's going on in the community, whether good or bad. I like watching your content because it's always just been REAL and I've been able to manage my expectations as so, so please don't hesitate to discuss uncomfortable content.

I think you are far more forgiving towards mamamax than I am. I used to like his videos, for that editing style, but doubts crept in early on and I though it was all creepy pastaeqsue stuff but then I found out the dude cooked up those lies and sell them as truths. Especially all that pedo stuff is extremely damning. He is also using this image he created of himself as a way to prey, ironically on young people, and ridicule their grievances as well as taking their money. If it’s just a scam whatever, but the dude doxed a bunch of people that he proclaimed are pedos, which is such a horrible accusation to make and after knowing that this dude makes up most of his stuff I bet those allegations are nothing but lies again. A person like that leaves just misery in his wake and just like other bad faith actors that actually do considerable harm should not be given access as a content creator on KZbin. I am also against cancellation but there are levels to that shit. He is basically the Alex Jones of crime/ horror KZbin commentators.
