Refuge is one of her best covers. Her voice is perfect for emotional songs. I'm pretty sure Skater boy was filmed in the US during their tour there. Mamamoo a group where everyone is exceptional in rapping and singing.

Yeah, poor byul was so underutilized early on, but i'm glad she got a rap segment in that cover. Bumkey and the other three got to show off so much, but all 5 were incredible and his voice works well with them all Several years later bunkey released a remake of his song "the lady" with byul singing it with him. She used to sing the song on her own quite a bit, as she was quite fond of it, so getting to be in the official remake (and actually singing!) had to be incredible for her. I know the fandom went crazy about it

7:45 I fully agree. I feel that being alone, with lights dimmed and only this song playing, will definitely get the tears going. The feelings for this song (and the understanding of the lyrics and what Moonbyul was trying to express through this song) will always have me teared up and have literal tears flowing down my cheeks whenever I hear Byul's refuge now. MAMAMOO members are really good at expressing emotions through their songs (even though you might not know Korea, or even if you don't have the lyrics with you), especially Moonbyul with these kind of songs. She might not have the most healthy/supported high notes, but her high notes do give a sense of desperation in her voice and it just adds so much more feels to her ballads and slow songs. 17:00 MAMAMOO was having their MY CON World Tour in the US when she filmed Skater Boi. XD And after watching this cover (and also her Speechless cover previously), you'll slowly get more familiar with this shooting style, and eventually be able to identify whenever Moonbyul's the one behind Solar's camera. :)

Moonbyul singing refuge is my religion :') Mamamoo always manage to make their covers seem unique adding their own style, I love that so much! I commented my cover recommendations on the covers #2 video if I'm not mistaken, but I think I didn't mention Mamamoo's 2000 Medley there so I'm recommending it now, it's amazing

Moonbyul's refuge is a great song and like all members they know how to sell the emotion they want you to feel when they sing. Yes Wheein can rap, they all can. Interesting is Wheein just released a cover of mamamoo Hip remix, it is great and yeah each member has covered mamamoo songs as solos. Sk8tr boi was another surprise, Solar was practicing it during the US My Con tour( I did see in in LA in June) but for whatever reason a concert tour for my bias was not enough work, she had to add on a song cover filmed between the Phoenix and LA concerts. Live also, you can her her shoes hit the pavement when she jumps, minimal editing there. Regret is if I had only known she was going to be at that location..... ( I missed band maid filming an MV only 2 miles from my house but that is a different story). Acoustic too. There are probably 25 or so songs on Solarsido and even more when you count the collabs. Hwasa was a new video for me, I had not found that one. Totally great cover and proves again Mamamoo members can sing anything. Bumkey is a great singer and did a lot of collabs with them mainly because he was better known in their early days, RBW really disappointed back then because they did not use Moonbyul as much as they could have, that changed because the members started to gain more control over their own content and performances, today pretty much nothing happens without their control

It's always so impressive to see how we've got four soloists with very different styles (both vocally and in general) who can just meld into this perfect storm that is Mamamoo. Well, for the must see covers, technically that includes the Immortal Songs, but I know you've got that planned separately. My all time favourite cover by Hwasa besides 'Watermelon Sugar' is 'City of Stars' ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2PJo2SAm8ylfpY ) which she makes much better than the original in my probably biased opinion lol. For Solar, if only because it seemed to be her go to audition song, 'I Will Always Love You' is a must imo ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJPJqX9jg9dqg7c it's mostly talking until 1:27 just fyi). For the group as a whole, their medley of 2000s songs on Sketchbook is just incredible ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHy7lnaIft91mqc ), as is their recent karaoke video in two parts ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/faWYd2ygfdV6qqc ), and then there's their covers of each other's solos, but that'll probably be post deep dive methinks :D The OSTs are also going to be such a blast when you get around to them, and holy crap there's just so much content from Mamamoo lmao. I told you Refugee would mess you up. I don't even know what the song is about, but what I felt from Moon was alot of pain and sorrow. Sadness of a woman who was denied to sing or denied singing the way that she wants to and that song , I felt was letting all that emotion out. Fly me to the moon is , I believe a song to Moonbyul. Don't quote me on this, but before Moonsun. For a brief moment there was hwasa and Moon but I think they had a falling out. They do get jealous of one another, you saw a little of this when SOLAR had the eyes on the woman that Moon hugged and had the eyes for in the introduction to Mamamoo. You find certain videos and you can see it. The MOOMOOS don't miss a thing. I've seen thing with Mamamoo and miss , while the fans will catch something in 5sec of a 15min performance. You'll doubt it, until they put a whole video of other moments together. I give them credit
