Yess, they're all better live. I remember when I first started to deep dive into mamamoo contents I watched most of their Live performances first instead of their MVs.

As you watch these early materials, bear in mind how limited the resources were that Mamamoo had available to them early on. They were really on a shoestring. I noticed watching Piano Man again that there is a complete disjunction during a Solar closeup between her lip syncing and the recorded vocal. I figure that it just counted as 'good enough' with the limited funds for editing and re-shoots. And although they were beginning to attract attention even with the early MVs, it was not until Um Oh Ah Yeh that they were able to put a couple of dollars in their collective pockets, but now I'm getting ahead of things....

I mean if this is what they can put together on a shoestring budget I'm pumped for when they actually have some money to work with. Granted I've seen Hip, Egotistic, and Starry Night during the tournament so I've seen where it can be too lol.

Idk if they know tap dance techniques or not but until 2019 they make their choreo by themselves. So it's awesome they tried to match the beat with the tap on heels. And the lyrics 😂 Mamamoo always the silly pervert one. They even had a content to show you how pervert they are. And i love that 😁

They're ALWAYS better live! Noticing that's like an undiscovered law of nature is what motivated me to look for other things that aren't just usually the case but true in every instance in the past, present, and into the future to be a Law. That was around the time I was really falling for Mamamoo, probably related. Dreamcatcher are great enough to have them too. First Law of Dreamcatcher: It's all of them.

I'm testing some hypotheses to check if they are helpful advice or ALWAYS true no matter what: Never take your eyes off what's going on in the back. Headphone warning. Save Dami.

If we've forgotten to inform you that if you want subtitles you have to watch the MVs on their yt channel then I apologize. Between 2014-17 the alternate official MVs on Stone Music Entertainment aren't subtitled but those are the ones you'll usually get with a standard yt search. Use the search field on MMM's channel to find the MV you want. Piano Man will always be a special song for me because it was the first song I heard by Mamamoo and it saved kpop for me when I decided to check out Korean music in 2016. After watching a few MVs by other groups I figured kpop really stood for kiddie pop and since that's not my demographic or musical taste I was ready to give up on it. The swing era jazz style of Piano Man was more up my alley so I followed the recommendation by fans in the comments and listened to MMM's Immortal Songs cover of Delilah, the old Tom Jones hit from the 60's that I knew very well, or so I thought. That was the end of my foolish first impression of kpop. You already know they're better live than on record but I had no warning and almost needed emergency surgery to have my jaw re-attached to my face. Fast forward 7 years and I'm still falling headfirst down the Mamamoo rabbit hole and enjoying every minute. 😂 You came to the right place for chaotic dance practices. Have fun!

@@SylverReacts I think of kpop as a uniquely Korean multi-disciplinary art form that includes music, dance, video and fashion. Musically it's not bound by genre and instead often incorporates elements of several genres and eras of music in a single song, as in Piano Man. Kpop is the wild west of pop music - anything goes, there are no rules, and they never felt the need for a sheriff other than as a character in an MV or a performance concept (such as Super Junior's Mamacita or Mamamoo's Destiny). 😂

I dont think they have a concert album. I could be wrong. I know with their recent My Con concert. At the merch table you could purchase access to a VOD from the tour. Turned out to be BTS stuff and their performances from the L.A. concert date. About 70 minutes in all. I just watched it recently. It was really good. Though i would have preferred a VOD of the Chicago performance i went to with my daughter. :) Also, later they begin working with 1Million studios (Korean Dance studio) the dance practices and choreo demos are over on 1Millions site. And they include students doing a version of the choreo too.

I hated hearing Mamamoo "didn't do choreo" until Gogobebe, or HIP. I call complete bs to that. They have always done choreo, and what I think is great choreo. They just did the type of choreo needed so they could sing live. I've always loved all of their choreo, and honestly, prefer their old choreo, to the newer, more intricate stuff.

@@SylverReacts There are some videos with Korean speakers explaining some of it but it's mostly puns so this word doesn't sound like that word in English. Also, there is a lot of groaning to go along with some chuckles. When they performed it live for radio broadcasts, each would come up with a new joke and sometimes crack up each other and the DJ.
