This album was a totally pleasant surprise from Mamamoo. I love the Travel track and yes you're spot on about it being Bright. Diamond has that Lorde's Royals vibe.

I'm still sad that the Travel Album was promoted during the pandemic. There's no audience watch the performance 😢 This album is my favourite Mamamoo EP and the live performance is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Yeah I think it's a bit of a shame too, but I also think it kinda enhances a potential theme of the album, being the desire to travel, and since they can't physically it feels like they're travelling with their music instead? I dunno if that makes any sense, but that's the vibe I'm getting. I love the lives in this one too!

I can totally see why they feel like they're really playing with their sound in this one and I think it's pretty much a toss up for me between this one and reality in black which have some of my absolute favorite b-sides! I'm pumped for Gamsung and depending on time it's gonna sneak in the schedule either Friday or Saturday shhhh lol

Fun fact: (someone probably mentioned it already?) Aya was chosen as a title track by kmoos. Their company arranged a listening party for the fans and had them vote between Dingga and Aya. Moos cmiiw!

@@SylverReacts Since you like MMM and Dreamcatcher, I would like to recommend a k-rock indie band called "Jaurim". They are live band group and they compose all their songs. Still active since 1997. The vocal lady "Kim, Yuna" is the most respected music artist in K music industry.

I think of Travel and Dingga as Mamamoo's way of trying to cheer us up when we were socially distant during the pandemic with fantasies of getting away from it all and having fun with friends of all ages. Travel's dreamy production style is very reminiscent of 80's Brit pop and synth pop but, being an old fart, for me Travel brings back memories of groups like Haircut 100 and Aztec Camera rather than the synth pop sound of Depeche Mode or OMD, for example. Random thought about music, politics and pandemics - though I liked many 80's synth pop groups they were guilty pleasures during a time when Reagan turned a blind eye to the AIDS pandemic, among other sins, crimes and misdemeanors. Songs like Travel and Dingga served a different function during the recent pandemic than the responses to the AIDS pandemic by musicians in the 80's. Back then I freelanced as a roadie and sound engineer for punk and hardcore bands, most of them made up of anarchists and radicals who wouldn't be caught dead listening to a silly pop group like Haircut 100. Seems ironic that a lighthearted, escapist musical style dismissed as socially irrelevant at the time of one pandemic would find a useful social function when used by a kpop group 40 years later as a vehicle to lift spirits and lighten hearts during another.

Great album one of my favorite songs is diamond. They said in an interview Chuck is their favorite. I suggest the AYA/Dingga aggrabah version, it is live and completely over the top for performance.
