Thanks for sharing this nice technique for a clean look. Would this work as well for regular 1x1 ribbing?

Yes, I don’t see why not! I used it on my Half Fisherman’s Rib Wild Winds Vest and it looks great there too!

@@wildknitsglasgow Thanks so much for clarifying - I thought this was a technique for stockinette edges 😂. I just unraveled a sweater to lengthen and will try this out.

Great tutorial! Thank you! Could you modify this technique to create a single slit on one side of the garment rather than a double split? (I'm thinking of using this technique to add a slit to a skirt)
@wildknitsglasgowАй бұрын
Yeah, absolutely. You just split where you want and instead of having two splits to make a front and back piece you’ll just have one split.

What happens at the end of purl side? Are two stitches knitted together?
@wildknitsglasgowАй бұрын
Yes the yarn over and last stitch are always knitted together no matter if you’re on the wrong or right side.

How did you finish the sweater edge on bottom. Is this alternative to ribbing?
@wildknitsglasgow5 ай бұрын
Hi, it is a folded hem. There’s a tutorial up for it on the same playlist. And yes, it’s an alternative to ribbing!

I understand on row 2 at the end, you knit the yo & the slst tog, but on row 3 (purl side) at the end, I purl the yo & slst tog...correct?
@wildknitsglasgow7 ай бұрын
No - they’re knitted together as well. This will create the neat edge that you see in the pictures (in the pattern).

I have never seen someone purl like that.

I switched to this way of purling and never looked back 😂 my purls are so much faster now and making ribbing is less tedious

@@racqthebellewhat is this way of pearling called? I want to learn!
@clarakf6 күн бұрын
@@lizmarzec you've probably found it by now since this was 2 months ago😅 but just in case, it's a Norwegian purl :))

Also, how many rows do I knit total befor turning the hem up. I noticed you didn't do any striping after you split front from back.
@wildknitsglasgow7 ай бұрын
It’s always double the final length of the hem. It says how many rows/cm/inches to knit in the pattern to create the final folded hem length for the Maman Sweater. If you have specific questions on the pattern always feel free to email support@wildknitsglasgow.com
