It's so nice to hear the group play live. They were the real deal, not just a studio band.

The Mamas & the Papas' performance of "Straight Shooter" on Day 3 (18 June) at the close of the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967. Track 1 of 9 songs they played that day.

What a great drummer ! Why haven't we heard more about him ?
@lupcokotevski29073 жыл бұрын
The great session drummer 'Fast' Eddie Hoh. He was their touring drummer. Some of his work: Bloomfield, Kooper, Stills Super Session album, Donovan (eg Season of the Witch), Tim Buckley (Goodbye and Hello album), The Monkees (eg Daydream Believer). Drugs screwed him up and by 1970 his career was over. He passed in 2015 aged 71. He was corresponding with fans in his later years. Not forgotten.

They were bickering at this time I believe due to Michelle sleeping with Denny while married to John and Cass was in love with Denny. I read that Cass knew she was a way better singer and used her voice to drown out Michelle...

The best thing about Eddie Hoh's drumming here is the sly grin that creeps on his face right after the amazing fill he does at around :46 seconds in. He was having a ball.
