Killing himself before he was born would be abortion. Since infanticide is the killing of an infant, he's practically killing himself (Suicide) but not himself, so it's infanticide. Kinda confusing eh?

Well infanticide means "the act of killing a child" so it's obvious what the name means, though this fight may represent the fact that Isaac is killing himself and he knows that he's killing himself via suffocation because the floor after Cathedral is Chest and the boss of that floor is Isaac's suffocated corpse.
