I personally think that part of why Giromon is classified as being part of the Mamemon family despite not sharing the name is because in the first Digimon World game, it's possible to get him to digivolve from a Mamemon. To do so, you must bring Mamemon to a Guardromon in Factorial Town that will offer to modify Mamemon for a fee of 2000 bits: this has a 5/11 chance of failure, another 5/11 chance to have him digivolve into MetalMamemon, or a 1/11 chance to get him to become a Giromon. Interestingly, both MetalMamemon and Giromon are found in Factorial Town and can be recruited to the city after you defeat them in battle, and I have a theory/headcannon that they were both originally Mamemons that got upgraded into their new forms in the town

He's also easily one of the best partners in the game! I can easily overpower Machiedramon with him, not only the first time, but also his three duplicates with as much as ease as consistency, he's that good! Also doesn't hurt that, being classed as Machine, he can learn that one delayed AoE attack that, when timed jus right (and this is easy to do since he has a tell for when he's about to do it), can stop Machinedramon ever getting off his Giga Cannon Finisher!

Giromon is one of my favorite of the Mamemon group. It is one of the easiest Perfect/Ultimate level Digimon to evolve in Digimon World 1. How it looks is also quite unassuming of its intent though it smiles menacingly it has a duty to protect.

I like how Mamemon lines are all often meant to be evolve from existing Digimon as sort of a Mutant Form. With MetalMamemon being commonly an evolution of Garurumon while Mamemon, for Greymon

The mamemon line was a group of digimon I never really understood and I assumed it was due to a language/cultural barrier. Thanks for the explanation! This line makes a lot more sense now lol

They cooked again!!! Also Mamemon is one of my favorite digimon species! Kudamon and Kudamon 2006 digivolution line videos when? (Make the Attack footage visible and with audio if you can. Ghost game, savers, digimon re-arise, etc)

I've always liked MetalMamemon and that scene from Digimon World where he is fighting a MetalGreymon. The Bancho version seems pretty cool too.

Any chance a video could be made on the ancient digital world that seems to be mentioned in both adventure 99 and frontier digital worlds lore? Its portayed as a difficult time when evolution past the child level was difficult. The sovereigns made armor digeggs as a work around supposedly but eventually something changed and that problem was resolved. If im interpreting the lore right, that problem was fixed by the super ancient digimon of frontier who gifted the power of evolution to all digimon after defeating lucemon. It feels like a possible starting point for the digimon universe. An original digital world where all timelines split off. A shared history linking it all but tbh it isnt explained well. I imagine its not all that different than the digital world in tamers if not the exact same one as well. Tamers digital world has a ton in common. Sovereigns, messy beta version looking world, widespread armor digimon, hard to digivolve naturally, culumon being the only way besides armor evo, Its one of the most confusing bits of lore imo and id love to see all that unpacked and untangled for us.

Thunderballmon to Metal Mamemon are my favorite. Still wish Metal Mamemon had a unique Ultimate/Mega.

MetalMamemon should've actually been a Mega, but at least Mamemon actually has REAL digivolutions now (PrinceMamemon, BanchoMamemon, and TonosamaMamemon).

Mamemons are probably one of my favorite family of digimon. They have a nice balance of cute and cool and are honestly a missed mascot opportunity imo. In another universe digimon is the highest grossing multimedia franchise and mamemon is its wildly popular mascot that prints paper for toei and eats pikachus lunch for breakfast each morning. Niche series like yokai watch or pokemon while good, just dont have the mass appeal to keep up with the mamechad hype sweeping the globe.

We can't forget about the member of the Mamemon Family that has no diffrend name or hasn't been acknowleged as a diffrend evolution but definetly is. The old man mamemon from the anime. With it's staff and thicc eyebrows it resembles and old man. P.S.: I would maby call it JiMamemon as a reference to Jijimon because Jiji means old man right?

I feel like if we include Thunderbombmom as a Mame family, we need to include Nanimon, Bombmon, and Citrumon as related but not directly "Mame" digimon too. Especially if Tekkamon is on this list. I feel like hes too evil to be included and its a bit of a stretch, but he also looks like a mame that got killed or corrupted so its possible?

MetalMamamon is my homey thanks to Digimon World and he can so easily and consistently wreck Machinedramon's sh*t, I even run him in my Deck alongside with Cyberdramon, Andromon, Megadramon and Tankdramon (that's why I call it "Dramon Brigade", alongside Machinedramon himself and his upgrade, Chaosdramon and Darkdramon)!

Interesting. I knew Mamemon since DW1 but never really that interested in them, I thought they're just the digimon series' mascot or something because of the very simple design. So they actually live under a giant beanstalk huh.

Everyone says digimon is a rip of Pokémon no digimon is a rip off of itself 😂 literally 7 or 8 of the same Digimon with different variants and they did variants of the same monster before Pokémon same with enhanced evolution
