Quick tip: close that light shield curtain when you're rolling a film or you'll get loads of annoying unwanted dust particles on your lens!

@Yulfi3 жыл бұрын
Every time I check, the Mamiya 7 has gone up in price since I bought mine. I paid $2150 for an 80mm kit back in 2017, and I see that it isn’t going for less than $3400 with a kit lens. If I weren’t so in love with it, I’d sell it and make a nice little profit right now; Same deal with my other two film cameras.

I do have to say, the grip on the Mamiya 7 is amazing. I did trade mine for a Hasselblad which is an interesting story though. Thought it would be safer to have that much money in a mechanical body as opposed to something electronic. Anyway the Hasselblad jammed within the first week. I do prefer the Hassy though.

You should def try out the Fuji GM670. It is my fave film camera I have. Like the mamiya, the gm670 is 6x7 and has interchangeable lenses that rock. It is also a lot more affordable.

How was it when focusing? I had a rangefinder before and it took so much time to align the images or patch that i mostly get out of focus camera. That is why I gave up on buying a rangefinder. Does the focus patch look clear and not hard to see if the images are aligned? I am thinking of giving this a try since I am looking for a portable 67. Thanks Chris!

Hi, Is it worth buying the Mamiya 7 II + 80mm f/4 £3500-£3800? User says it is immaculate. Is it too risky to buy as they are old. User says he bought it new in 2003. Is this camera recommended for portraits and travel?

The Mamiya 7 is built for travelling, that's why it's so light. It's very easy to carry around, not heavy at all.

The 135 pano shots are not that much wider than x-pan. I think it's mostly less frames because you're burning film at the start where the paper leader would be on 120 film. You could possibly get a few extra frames by taping a used piece of film at the start of your pano roll.

it is possible to get 20 shots out of a roll of 36 but you have to load it a little differently, I made a video on it a while back using a Pentax 67. it's extra work but I think the extra 4 shots are worth it in the long run.

Great within its limitations. Rangefinder. Leaf shutter lenses. Not the greatest grip. It is more convenient than an RB/RZ in the field assuming no detailed focusing is required. If you are that hip guy who walks around with a camera hanging from his neck waiting for an old beach house or wooden gate in a field to photograph it's swell.
@johnleftwich6503 жыл бұрын
Stop it! Stop tempting me! I just sold all my 35mm film cameras except my Nikon F4 and my Canon EOS 3 which I told myself they were all I needed. Actually though I think I can resist the Mamiya 7 because I really don't like the range finder experience.
