shaking like an old washing machine with a few screws loose

Whahahaha yes that is so true! You should see the table it’s standing on. Things start falling off from all the shaking :-) I should make a video of that one day.

Doesn't help that it's doing the Voron thing of leaving out 1/4 of the top frame that would have provided a lot more rigidity...
@mammoth-3D4 ай бұрын
@@daliasprints9798 Maybe im just misunderstanding about the frame. But this is a 300x300 Voron 2.4
@daliasprints97984 ай бұрын
@@mammoth-3D I mean how Vorons don't have a full cube frame but leave out an edge at the top front. It detracts a lot from rigidity and AFAICT it's just a "form over function" thing.

@@daliasprints9798er. Not sure why this one doesn't. But mine definitely does. Heh. Pretty sure it's just out of frame

Judging by the sound, this printer is contraindicated for low movement speeds 😄

whahahaha ill see if I can push it a bit more with the new AWD gantry ;-)

I'm wondering... could I use those printer stepper mounts on my Vz? (Also; love this project)
@mammoth-3D4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! I never looked into it. Vz has a fixed gantry and im using a floating gantry. What part do you like. Maybe I can make something new?!
@MrJofArnold4 ай бұрын
@@mammoth-3D I didn't even register it as floaing gantry - I just thought "that's a really low z height" 😆 In general I'm interested in better ways for tensioning and double shear that fit my Vz330. I know they're working on a double shear design but dunno when that will be released.
@mammoth-3D4 ай бұрын
@@MrJofArnold Yes I just love floating gantry 🙂 Do you have a link to the double shear that fit my Vz330? If never hear about it. Sorry

@@mammoth-3D They've mentioned it a couple of times in the discord that they are working on it, but no more info than that I'm afraid
@mammoth-3D4 ай бұрын
@@MrJofArnold It could also just mean that they will put two pulleys on one shaft?! Hard to tell. I do the same. Just to safe space. We will see what will come out at the end. Yes the belt tensioning system I made was, I don't need to loosen motor mounts and I don't tension directly on the motor shaft! And that is how the mammoth gantry was made. :-)

Is that water cooling for the steppers and hot end?
@mammoth-3D4 ай бұрын
Yes I use water cooling for the steppers, hotted and 5160 Pro drivers

what motors do you use?

The motors in the video are LDO Super Power. Water cooled and running at 48V and 2.1 Amps

WHAT THE FUCK!? DUDE! I'm sitting here, trying to figure out how to print a first layer and you do this kind of shit Oo What do you use for bed adhesion!?
@mammoth-3D4 ай бұрын
whahahaha Yes I did in this print. But it's not for the first layer. It is that the ASA doesn't bond with the PEI Sheet. What I learned over the years. Get a good PEI sheet and stick with on brand, so you know what it can do and what not. The right tool for the job. I tested klicky, BD-sensor, ..... but the best and always consistent is the Beacon probe, not the CN version.

Sorry never gave you feedback about the adhesive I use. Any water based glue stick will do the job. In the US you can find lots. But in Europe hard to find, so im using bamboo lab glue stick.
