Does it have a back protector? Or is it possible to fit one into the backpack?

No, there's no back protector. I imagine you could use a back protector that'd attach to your torso--it's doesn't seem like the pack has any kind of back protector features.

Thanks! I wish that it would be possible to have a protector in the backpack, but still - this seems to be a great option, for reasonable money.

TheShivus I highly recommend looking into separate back protection (i.e. Body Glove). IMO, it's more comfortable, stable, safe and tailored to do what it needs to do, if something happens. I recently got this backpack, as a hand-me-down. It's my first "safety"-backpack, so, I can't really give any real comparisons to what's out there. But, packed with a shovel, probe, first aid kit, lunch, water, etc., it's already, fat-raccoon-baby-heavy... This one is 2014 (or earlier), so there's probably, newer, lighter and more versatile packs available (Mammut is great, Swiss quality, but with the Swiss price tag). Again, I have no idea what I'm doing out there! :D Please post an update, if you run across something interesting.
