Very good music, yes, but new, not really. Some bands where already doing similar music in the 70'. Search for Weather Report as an example. Check this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGe5lGuZoN-leZIsi=O6gfWdItzYvbR_W2 , the sound is obviously older, but you can find similarities, as well as in more tunes. It s like the evolution of weather report. : )

@@markhartsuch3498 ! Do you use them live, and if so how are they triggered? I haven't performed for decades so I'm out of it.

@@Frisbieinstein so for our current set we run tracks for almost all of our songs off of our playback rig from Pro Tools, logic or ableton depending on which computer we are using. We wanted to have awesome lighting for live shows and the best way to do this is to have songs mapped out exactly with the lights and the audio elements. In the future, we might use ableton to make live arrangements on the spot but it makes the light show less precise. Although things are mapped out in the show, we take pride in keeping the feeling of improvised sections open and different each time even though the amount of bars is set.

Yes, I have a funny count-in for the band programmed for the beginning of the song and in a few new songs I include count-ins for tempo changes/sections where there are metric modulations. We also are playing to a click. Something fun about our weekly lives is that we get a lot of calls to do a variety of shows. Next week, we are premiering an entirely new set of music that is completely "acoustic" (electric bass, percussion, sax) all un-mic'd! I don't know your interests but I have been inspired by artists like Knower, ButtonMasher, Evan Marien, Anomalie, and more who have an incredible audio/light production, modular band set up (music can be performed by 1-20 musicians depending on the event), all the while maintaining elements of harmony, melody, rhythm that my favorite music has had spanning the past 300 years or more.
