Skin-Wolves are a type of werewolf - When they transform, their wolf-mode literally bursts out of their skin, wearing the rags of the skin they had. The exact same is also true when they return to human - they have to tear their way out of the Wolf-mode's skin. Boy, is that shit gruesome.

Skin wolves are what's called anti-large. They get bonus damage, on top of their normal damage for free (just like spearmen), vs anything larger than a man-sized enemy. So that includes your cav, monstrous inf (trolls/fimirs) and monsters (mammoths/giants). Tom (if you even read this anymore), they are your anti-cav, as long as they can catch them they will tear through any larger foes you might face later on (for example, brettonian cavalry, just watch the anti-large ones they have, better to take them on with spearmen... or just have waaaayy more skin wolves than them). Also keep an eye out for Fimir great weapon blokes, high tier unit which also has anti large. Loving the series, enjoy!

One of the people at my local club brought a Mammoth not that long ago and decided to test it out before he took it to the tourney (using monstrous arcanum rules). He charged it into my Chaos Lord/Tzeentch unit, and I cut it to pieces. Although it did kill half my 35 man unit. Funny game though. Last turn, all that was left was a giant and a stonehorn that was fleeing on his side (he was playing Ogres) and I had a Tzeentch Sorc with a 3+ ward save. Sorc kill his giant and it fell on the Sorc and did his last remaining wound. Winning in the game. So salty but fuck it was funny!

Order of things getting fucked in auto-resolve: 1. Big funtime units that will take ages to regen 2. Infantry units 3. Heroes that will take for ages to regen(though it usually only kills them when they are already fucked) 4. Cavallry 5. Lords, unless the lords are also big funtime units 6. That one warhound or chariot that you always wanted to disband but then you thought "they will die in the next auto-resolve anyways" and that currently has more experience than your bloody faction leader
