This is without a doubt a magnificent set up. But if you're on a budget like me there's a couple of things you could do to ease the price burden. A good pc, laptop or tablet could work alongside your receiver and cassette decks to give you Spotify, internet radio and other things. Provided it has a decent sound system and a 3.5mm headphone jack. I love recording Spotify or KZbin to cassette.

You either live alone or you have a very very understanding partner! I smuggle in one new component and I get "what's this? Why do we need it?" I have the Teac CD, tape & USB unit and love it, I also got a 6 year warranty with it just in case.

A very understanding wife and she too appreciates the retro look, I think if it was all miss-matched then she would have a small word in my ear. Yes the Teac A850 is a very versertile piece of kit, and with a 6yr warrenty, bonus. Thanks for sharing Martyn. Stay safe.

@@stomperthemixer1 Did I see REM's Automatic For The People on cassette in the background? Man I miss the good old days of Quality Hi Fi. Especially the 80's era when stereos had flash and blinking LEDs. Good stuff man. Teac is a great brand. I cherish my All in One unit. Have it connected to my Onkyo reciever and Polk Towers. Anyways enjoyed your system tour. Maybe I'll make one too. Always interesting to see what kind of systems other people have. Saddly most people are just satisfied with a mono Bluetooth speaker. 😁

@@stomperthemixer1 it s not about the high frequency response , it s about the overall quality. It is a CRAP deck with the cheapest mechanism possible. I wouldnt even trust putting pre recorded tapes inside one of those! ANY old 2head deck will beat it.
@stomperthemixer12 жыл бұрын
@@sh0t734 so far so good in the years ive owned then, yes there is some nice decks out there with higher end mechainisms but im more of the look of this style than the internal build quality. Its just what ive bought over the years keeping it mostly teac. and the good decks are way out of my price range and mostly all in someones elses collection. They stopped producting the higher end ones a long time ago but Teac came up with these not to long ago and there good one the eye for the retro display look. Plus I will have better chance replacing the insides of these than any other if thier were to fail.

Why do people have such a low opinion of double decks? I've had great luck with mine over the years. My first deck was a black Kenwood double deck from the early 90s. I still have the recordings I made on it today and they sound fantastic in chrome or cobalt. Maybe some manufacturers made better decks than others. Admittedly I have no experience with Teac though. As a matter of fact there are times when I miss my old Kenwood. Ole reliable.
