“Carry on doing this” A somewhat weird remark given that City are not even in the top 10 highest net spending dears over the past 5 years. Spending like this is a break from their normal behaviour albeit driven by serious on-field issues.

True, we don't know the outcome but they must have some sort of idea of how the hearing has concluded from their lawyers and as such must have a reasonable idea of the likely outcome you would think. Given the current activity and the building work that is going on, I really don't think that would be happening if they were expecting a bad result from the hearing. After all, there is some suggestion that the PL could potentially ban the current owners from running the club and given it's value now it would be very difficult to find new owners that had deep enough pockets to take it all on. So why would you continue to throw this much money at it if there was a good possibility of things going badly? I just don't think you would, you would hold back, especially as we're not really in contention for the title this season.

We wouldn't spend like we do if we knew we were going to get relegated. Let's be honest here, it was Always rather silly to believe that 1. We had done this so blatantly. And 2. That all the charges would stick despite having been found not guilty on a similar case before - A similar case that has to be proven to a even higher standard to abide by the British rules now. It is just not logical.

A spend cap is effectively partly a salary cap and the argument that PSG have spent lots of money but haven't really been successful with it isn't really an argument as you could say the same about Utd or Arsenal in recent years. I'm not against a cap if it's adaptive to what is going on but the PL don't move fast enough when it comes to things like the PSR limit etc. If the cap is not allowing the top clubs in the prem to spend the same as the top European clubs it will put them at a disadvantage when it comes to negotiating transfers and WAGES (spend cap). The PL probably has the highest revenue when it comes to TV rights etc or you would think so going of the cost of all our various TV subscriptions required so the PL clubs competing in Europe should be able to at least spend on a par with Europe's elite. If the rules don't allow that it's no good the PL looking at changing the amount next year as that could ruin a clubs finances this year and have a knock on effect. My problem is not so much with the cap and more with the PL and how slow they are to react to things.
