On Sunday, a man died outside the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Milwaukee.
We've now learned the man was 43-year-old Dvontaye Mitchell.
"What I ended up capturing was another black man in Milwaukee dealing with mental issues losing his life over nothing," Shawn Moore said.
Moore said he saw most of what happened on Sunday. There are more questions than answers surrounding Dvontaye Mitchell's death.
We talked with Dvontaye Mitchell's family who said they're shocked about what happened and said it's a situation that should've never happened.

Since so many black men have done so much bashing of black women and especially on social media: I'm now divorced from advocating for them. Let the people they're partnering, co-habitng and marrying from other cultures speak out and march for them. I'm done. I'm sorry for the loss of this man-and he deserves justice-- other than that, I'm done.

Just tryin' to wake up people who are willing to "see"...stop bashing black women. Be loyal to people who share your ethnicity bc they''re the only ones fighting for you. yea.

It’s called “callous indifference” and it applies when one as unknowledgeable as yourself omits even the shallowest pretense of human compassion or empathy upon the demise of a fellow human being. In its most egregious form, it is the hallmark characteristic of a bonafide psychopath. The disability precludes any attachment to pets; family members; a spouse; friends, whatsoever. Much as your blatant disregard for the deceased or his loved ones is revealed in your dismissive, detached comment, wherein you mentioned neither him nor those troubled by his passing. Disrespect duly noted.

But at the time when all the first account witness and the clear video there was no resisting at all. The only resisting was only resisting death. We all seen the beating and there was no disputing that. That is not how the laws work. It is one thing to retain him until the cops come but all the unnecessary beating has to be explained. If he wouldn't be in a females bathroom creating a "Disturbance" then he would be alive. 3.If he wouldn't have fault when security tried to get him out/detaining him until police came he might be alive. 4. If he wasn't obese maybe he wouldn't have worked himself up so trying to get away because he was probably gonna go to jail AGAIN he wouldn't have a heart attack and die!! 🛑 STOP making excuses "He had mental health issues" or "He suffered from addiction" but he has a wife & kids & was nothing wrong prior except for his arrest record.. Or maybe he experienced "bystander syndrome", which is more common than people know. To his credit he did record it whether from 100 ft or 1 ft. But for his recording the situation had pretty much been swept under the rug so I'll take a small win vs none at all. The family today is supposed to hold another news conference. Apparently there was more evidence that was discovered that is going to turn this investigation up even more. Eventually the cops are going to be left with no other choice to make an arrest or arrests.

I am a Black male. As a student I rotated at a psychiatric hospital. A very large schizophrenic Black male lost it and attacked a rather smaller Black Male nurse. He punched the nurse in the nose but the nurse bravely held him down. I don't know where I found the courage but I rushed in there and me and the male nurse held him down until hospital security came in. Nobody died or was severely injured. They could have detained this man without killing him but the hyperaggressiveness of so.e security forces preclude humane treatment of people.

True that. So where was Dvontaye's family during this incident, knowing full well their teddy bear was mentally ill and liable to cause a disturbance in public? Why was this guy-prone to violent outbursts-allowed to leave his home and cause chaos at a busy hotel in downtown Milwaukee? Where were all his loving family members THEN??? It's only NOW -when this incident has gained national attention and has (wrongfully) fueled the flames of racism-do we hear from Dvontaye's family. Hmmmmm. Perhaps they should have kept better tabs on him, rather than letting him wander off and cause mayhem in a public place? Did that ever occur to you, hunna5849? @@jadie1234a So Dvontaye was your husband's nephew. I am sorry for husband's loss. But I'd like to ask you a question if I may. The media has been reporting that Dvontaye was homeless and mentally ill at the time of his death. My question is this: WHERE WERE YOU ALL AS A FAMILY WHEN DVONTAYE WAS ALONE, FRIGHTENED AND ABANDONED ON THE STREETS OF MILWAUKEE??? In my opinion a decent family would NEVER allow their loved one-especially one with a mental illness!-to be left to fend for himself on the streets. So where were all of you??? Why is it NOW-after Dvontaye's unfortunate death-that you all rear your heads, hoping to cash in on his untimely demise by claiming this was an act of barbaric racism? Please answer my question because as I see it you all FAILED miserably as a family at taking care of your MENTALLY UNSTABLE relative. YOUR family's pathetic neglect resulted in Dvontaye's death. Maybe you shouldn't be casting blame on the security guards at the Hyatt, but rather at YOURSELVES for getting a failing grade at having no care and compassion for your "loved one???" Prove me wrong.
