Great day out Jeff and its awesome plenty of gold was found, lots of happy prospectors. I had a subsribers day out for my channel here in central Victoria and was amazed and humbled went about 20 prospectors attended and what was also great plenty of gold was found, it was a great day and just fantastic that so many like minded people could come together for a great days prospecting. Those were some sweet nuggets, especially the 7 gram nugget! If the east coast was closer to the west coast, I'd be there with you all out in the wilderness finding gold. Makes me want to find some gold-bearing wilderness here in the Baltimore, D.C. area. Interestingly, we find a lot of spent bullet casings here as well. Main difference is that the ones we find are still smoking ")

@@Stevesbe No BLM controlled federal land is a huge downer. Can't prospect in state parks. There's good gold in southern Maryland just north of the Potomac River. However, almost all private land, I think. Given the above, no good prospecting clubs in Central MD. I'm looking for active prospecting clubs in southern MD and northern Virginia. We have small amount of gold here in Catonsville. I can get a couple/few flakes of flood gold per 5 gallon bucket. Fine for the occasional gold fix, bit almost not worth the effort to collect it. Actually have a fair amount of super fine gold in some of the clays. Been meaning to poke at that more, but haven't had the time. The gold here in Catonsville is load gold. If one can find an outcropping of white quartz and get permission to prospect it, might get lucky.
