The jury foreman explained it. He said they thought that Brock defended himself but he could've backed off after he hit her, but he kept hitting her which changed it from self defense to assault. You can defend yourself, but you can't just keep going after the threat is over and they thought he did. He also said that he was surprised that she wasn't charged with attempted murder which should've happened.

@@misscole06 Because men and women have both been bred to fear primarily just MEN! It’s the same reasons that women get lighter sentences, if not get off scott free entirely! Look at all the women that have gone free or gotten ridiculous light sentences for secs crimes! Women blame men for everything wrong in this world and most other men agree! However, when men complain their cry often falls on deaf ears or their accused of h@ting women. But yes, both parties can be at fault, unfortunately women get away with a lot of bad behavior that men routinely get penalized for!

Yeppers! Before I became a Christian and started working on myself, I always played the victim. I was just as abusive and would lie so much that I believed my own lies. A lot of the time, it's both people. I am so grateful that I have been able to have this insight. As a sidenote... Where I live in South Carolina, if the police are called to a domestic violence disturbance, one person MUST by law, be arrested and charged. How do they know who is telling the truth? Narcissists are very convincing. Many times, it's the innocent party carted off and convicted.

8 miles is most likely driving distance not walking distance. A person wanting to take a walk on a nice day isn't that odd, I notice people walking for exercise or to go to circle k for a giant soda and/or alcohol. Thinking about premeditative murder it's odd to think one may walk for three or more miles full of blood.

Why would he do that? because he came without his car. Why did he not bring his car? Why did he not go to a neighbor's to ask for help instead? None of his story makes sense.

It's always wild to me when a man claims a woman is unstable but then LEAVES her alone with their kids! I had a guy try to pick me up by talking about what a psycho his ex wife was and how she was a shitty mother. I think he hoped for a sympathy date. "Oh, man, that's awful! Where are your kids tonight?" They were with her. I asked how she managed to get custody. Turns out he hadn't wanted physical custody because it would have been "impossible" to take care of them alone (y'know, like she was doing). How weird.

@@ashleypaddison438 Yes and there is a reason why a judge awarded her sole custody. That means the judge saw him as unfit and she will make all decisions for their child. For a guy that has no money for child support, he spares no expense unnecessarily paying the cost to have someone serve her papers in person.

Twelve staples to her head means she had pretty severe head injuries. Severe enough for her to have some memory loss. There was this case where a guy was so severely beaten around his head and was left for dead, but before he died, he actually got up while bleeding profusely, and went out his front door and picked up the early morning newspaper which was his usual routine. His brain was glitching as he was about to die, but he was moving and using that part of his brain where his routine of picking up the morning paper is deeply ingrained. He was found dead with the newspaper he never got to read. They knew he was the one who picked up the newspaper because of his own blood trail.

I also worked at sprint and we are not allowed to use our cell phones within a mile radius of the building and I only lived a mile away😅 I remember being chastised in the 90s because my family was so angry at me telling me I was going to get brain cancer if I took my phone with me in my family pack while walking my eight miles every night in Irvine

@@arleneportsmouth1263 it was 2015, not 1915. Every phone had mapping capabilities by then.

If I had to bet, I would say he is the liar. His eyes move back and forth while she holds a steady gaze during the interview. He seemed to be making the story as he talked from a script from memory.

Detectives are notorious for “injecting assumptions” into their reports. My roommate committed suicide in the house and I found him. The a-hole detective distorted my words so badly that my roommate’s family ended up blaming ME for his suicide.🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻

In a divorce I believe it should be automatically joint or split custody over children unless there are serious negative circumstances with either parent. Children are not property.... There definitely needs to be family court reform

Why would he walk 8 miles on foo t to her house? Without wallet and without his cell phone!!!! this doesn't make any sense. And you can see it on his face - he is a complete lier! He stabbed him himself probably when he realized that she is alive and called the police. So he could claim self defence. He also was planning on leaving with her car that's why he didn't drive his own car that day

The knife in the back is straight out of an old Murder She Wrote. Guest star Buddy Hackett stabs himself in the back by jamming the handle in a door and backs into it. And just an opinion but the jury foreman seems to like the limelight to much.
