You can adjust someone like this guy a million times but if he’s not doing stretches and strengthening exercises on his own to train his back muscles to improve his posture and mobility, then all you’re doing is addressing the symptoms instead of the root issue. This is why chiropractors are sometimes accused of being cons.

I’ve also had a physical therapist use a Hivamat on my back and shoulders and lower neck. It worked wonders for me. I only had that done 5 times then I started feeling too relaxed. going to a chiro won't change the curve of the spine at all. It is locked in place. "popping" the back is not correcting the bend of it. What popping does is actually unknown, most science says it does nothing. sure feels good tho

Hi. I’m very curious HOW is it possible after all those major decompressions and adjustments , that his neck is still stiff as a board???!!! Serious question! Is it a permanent deformity? Did his vertebrae fuse themselves or something? Any idea? And how come kyphosis still? I guess that’s a permanent thing when it’s gets too much (out of hand)? Thank you.
@JoeWaschel Жыл бұрын
Because "chiropractic adjustments" aren't and have never been able to heal severe conditions like this. The better question would be where this idea comes from. Please take a look at the assessment of his range of motion in the first video. It should be obvious to everyone, that this isn't a matter of muscles "being tight". If chiropractic was able to heal hyperkyphosis and a neck like his, there would obviously be papers about it in medical journals, as this would be a real medical breakthrough. You can look for yourself whether those papers exist, but they don't. The real question is why someone is in for his 6th treatment (and years of chiropractic care with other chiros), without anyone trying to get a proper medical diagnosis. Literally all the chiro says about his condition is that it's "real tight" and "jammed up". That's frankly not a solid base for treatment when one has such severe problems.

@@JoeWaschel yea I was thinking he has a case of AS or something since he can’t move his neck and his back pretty much looks the same. Get this man an x-ray!!!
@OmniscientWarrior Жыл бұрын
He has been like this, will much worse, for 15 years, so a lot in the body adjusted for the injuries and have to be given time to allow the other adjustments to occur. But he still has a major misalignment problem that is still influencing smaller ones. The patient, Chase, has even mentioned that he did stuff at home that is helping. The stuff he is doing at home is to keep the body from healing and going back into what it was for a long time and to heal in the way he should be, or as close to it as possible. You need to factor in the severity of Chase's problems before you with how many visits he had. Not all chiro are equal or good, which is part due to lack of credence and scrutiny given to the profession and that just becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Much like how dentistry and plastic surgery were in the past. But you can see there is merit to this by looking at the six videos with Chase alone. Even just compare the first and last videos. And just like how for and back doctors will tell you that having get out of alignment will give severe back pain from the back being out of alignment, the same is with the neck and spine. The body will adjust to one issue and create another up and down the spine. Like how Chase has his head forward, not as badly as it used to be, is from the hunch in the back. Also how there is a vertebrae, c1, that is shifted to the right.
