I used to work a job where I drove an average of 500 miles a week, and I'm so glad I was able to switch to a work-at-home job about 6 years ago so that I don't have to go out much any more. There have always been crazy drivers, but they seem to have multiplied exponentially in the last few years. Between distracted driving and road rage, you're really taking your life in your hands nowadays. And the really sad part is you can be best, safest driver in the world but you can easily get taken out by someone who should never ever be anywhere near a car.

Have you ever watched the very unpopular program called Canada's Worst Drivers? Painful to watch that program, where they attempt to teach people how to drive, people who somehow obtained a driver's license and are causing accidents. The mentality of this new generation and the injuries that will incur is thanks to the group who infiltrated our school system and the changes they made to Curriculum. They can fail and still pass for good effort.

In Australia, nobody messes with trucks especially on the highways, why? Because our trucks all have bull bars, bar lights, spot lights etc. Majority of Dash Cam truckers in the US are victims of road rage idiots, brake checkers but there are a few truckers who really don’t give a shit either and “accidentally” or “oops” gives some aggressive four wheelers a touch up now n then. When our truckers are hauling massive mine trucks, 8 and one half metre wide loads, these truckers don’t stop for nobody, you get in the road, they will run right over you. The way these so called licensed four wheelers deliberately go out of their way just to upset truckers or cause damage etc does not make any sense at all, these guys are working, are away from their families earning a living to support their families back at home, many never make it home, and many families have to find other ways to survive. These idiot brake checkers, road-ragers are so selfish, so entitled, and will not show any remorse if a trucker died because of their actions and this is why everybody should have dash cam to catch these entitled road rage brake checking scumbags.

I remember my very first load I had to take. I was a 17 year old Marine stationed in Camp Pendleton . There was a load of aviation fuel needing to get to El Toro Air station. In the Corps you are not allowed to drive explosive or fuel on the highways unless you are 21 yrs of age. So here is this 17 yr old jarhead with his yard Sargent telling me to take the load right away. Apparently it was going to be shipped to Vietnam. I remembered he pleaded with me not to screw up or have an accident or ticket. Still brings a smiler to my face. But I do miss the driving. I ended up retiring as a OTR trucker. I miss the Flying "J" with their smoked turkey legs. I miss hanging out with other drivers as we chewed the hit about the idiotic 4 wheelers. I would like once to be again, This is what I ttell me kids that I was,a professional tourist. But not sure if I can tolerate the stupid drivers out there. I know they ay you are not driving good unless you get at least one complaint from a 4 wheeler. But I see a lot of these young guys driving out there and I keep wondering what box of Cracker Jacks did they pull a license out of. Keep the rubber side down brothers and have a great day. Signing off the old two way which I still have yet. Running wide open you got the Drifter on the line

I like plenty of distance between me and everybody else. And that goes triple for trucks. I know they have poor rearward and side visibility, especially on the passenger side, they make wide turns, it can be hard for them to slow down, and I drive a small car. Close Proximity is not your friend.

5:35 I see this happen constantly. At least a few times a day and there is almost always no one behind the truck. Why is it that so many people feel the need, 200 feet from their exit to jump into the left lane and gun it past a truck so they can slam on their brakes and cut across 2-3 lanes and the nose of the truck to make their exit? It’s baffling and infuriating.

If it makes you feel any better, they abuse everybody like that, so you are not alone. At the other end of the size scale, I drive a Honda Civic and frequently see the same thing. I'll be at the tail end of a row of cars on or near the right hand lane with at least a quarter mile of empty space behind me. But is that good enough? Of course not, they have to pass and cut in front of the tail end guy to make that wild exit.

Drive a big box truck for work so I can share a little of this pain. People will cruise in the middle/left lane playing on their phones, I can see through their back window that they're driving with one hand or notice them not staying neatly in their lanes because they keep swerving around distracted. But the moment you change lanes to pass them, or see that they're not about to overtake you and are about to change lanes in front of them, they speed up to go around/block you from overtaking, because the idea of being behind a truck in their car is offensive somehow.

@2:32 I want to preface this by saying I'm a truck driver myself and have been for 8yrs now. I can understand it being an overall terrible decision for the car to stop in the middle of the road like that.. but also tbf you do have that truck driver on the shoulder waving a flag while he's walking to the back of the rig. Like.. wtf is he doing?! You wouldnt catch me dead doing that in that heavy traffic.. ever. I'd just walk using the other side instead. Anyway, going back to my point.. it can be understandable to see how that could confuse a motorist and have them stop in the middle of the road like that. If there was an accident in this clip I'd be inclined to believe that if taken to court they'd place blame for any injuries/repairs on that dumb truck driver. Again, yes the car shouldn't have stopped in the middle of the road like that, but one can see how/why it happened due to the pulled over truck driver's stupidity as well.

#3.2, would have loved to see more of the clip to see just how long you pitched that tent in the left lane. Plenty of truckers get out there and just set up shop instead of actually passing.

I spent a few decades on the road in sales. I had a lot of respect for these truckers. They were always there for me in time of need. I'm sure not all were as great as the ones I met, the ones who assisted me and my favorite trucker from Georgia delivering baby food and driving through Philadelphia. It was hot as hell out and he smelled so good as he thoroughly checked my tire and lug nuts. He was a looker with that Southern drawl. Tried to give him money for lunch on me, he wouldn't take it so there I was chasing him in heels & a business suit running down I-95 to his rig. Never met a man who walked so fast. I hope he is well and off the damn roads today.

I'm not sure about that. It looks like at the beginning of the clip the car was at the end of the trailer and was almost, or at least, to the cab when the trucker started to get in that lane. Plus the trucker was already half way in the left lane before he turned on his blinker. I don't think the trucker was paying attention.

I sometimes drive a car with a disabled plate and I’m blown away by how awful people are compared to when I drive my huge work rig or my Tacoma. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve told other drivers at stoplights that I’m far from disabled and didn’t appreciate their “toughness” cutting us off or otherwise acting like an ass. Grew up dealing with bad drivers while operating large vehicles but the disabled plate hostility blows my mind. It’s like people assume they have a right to be in front of a disabled plated vehicle. Just weird.

Just a little public service announcement here, considering the state of the world nowadays, if you pull over in front of a big truck in your car and slam on your brakes and stop in the middle of a busy highway and get out and approach the truck, you could be considered a threat and be handled accordingly. Just a little piece of advice from your uncle Gus.

A question about the US system. At the 6.25 mark a truck merges onto the road. There is no line. In Europe the truck merging in would have to right of way as it arrives from the right and there are no roadmarks indicating a different situation, so here the truck recording would be in the wrong for not slowing down. Is that different in the US?
