rubberhamburger length has nothing to do with it. You could (in theory) have a straight truck with a 53’ box and it still wouldn’t be a semi. A semi consists of a trailer and a seperate power unit that are coupled through a 5th wheel thus allowing them to be easily seperated and also to articulate at the point where the pin is locked into the 5th wheel.

I had a stoned co-worker lift the Outriggers and drive off with me still fully extended in the bucket. He went about three blocks through a neighborhood tearing down every phone line and cable line there was with me screaming at the top of my lungs the only thing that stopped him was me disconnecting my hydraulic pole saw and throwing it down on the headache rack of the truck. He slammed the brakes on and I whipped around like a lollipop 50 feet in the air

Vehicle safety violations for your company 1) Lift arm alarm / interlock not working; 2) Outrigger interlock not working; 3) Impaired co-worker operating a vehicle. I am glad I don't work for your employer. Good to know you also survived.

It's clear that the workers put themselves in unnecessary danger and also other motorists. There should be long safety training sessions with the supervisors and the workers.

If this had been an old style metal basket, it probably would have wrapped around the worker's legs or worse. Contractor at fault for at the very least not having a sign / arrow truck blocking the lane. The worker was placed in danger. Site supervisor / foreman should be fired.

Not the driver's fault, they should have been higher up that box truck is 13'1" and should've had the road blocked off

My god, there’s a video and still there’s some people that think the truck driver should have magically seen him and swerved over and cut off the guy with the car cam, or locked up his brakes. Same type of people that would have been in that bucket...

Kind of a "what the hell were they thinking?" on everyone's part...the maintenance crew for their piss poor setup and the truck driver for paying zero attention to hazards ahead.

In the truck drivers defense the should have put up a sign or blocked off the lane. There was only a few cones around the lift truck and it was hard to see until it was too late. That had to hurt.

A hard day at work! What's for dinner baby? Oh yeah how was your day? Same old stuff clock in, work, come home, watch TV, eat dinner, if dinner is cooked, take a shower, go to bed, hope I wake up in the morning, go to work, and hopefully I'll see you when I get home...

When it is your life on the line, it is your responsibility to ensure all safety devices have been deployed. The guy in the bucket is the only one at fault, he should have never gone up there without protocol being met. Sad, but stupid.

So true it's not the driver's fault. But I drive trks and as a driver we slow up in a situation like this or even try to get over. Thank God the bucket wasn't a lil lower. Glad to see everyone was ok.

I don't understand why It happened. Did they not do there "risk and method statment" and then there point of work risk assessment. As we all know those bits of paper will save your life, and you don't have to think as its all written on that bit of paper..
