Opening your private pool to the neighborhood is very risky. If one of those kids is harmed or killed on your property, you can bet the parents will file suite against the home owner.

Private pool means no one is supposed to do what they want to do on someone else's property That is braking the law and if you damage someone else's property you pay the bill.

Buying a liner pool is first mistake...

He should install cameras and a security fence to be able to keep an eye on his property.

Insurance risky. We had a pool, and the rule was - 1. we had to be home and give permission. 2. there had to be an adult present, outside the pool to watch anyone under 14. 3. No running around the perimeter. 4. no dogs (we had a tougher liner, but still... 5. No food or drink in the pool. 6. No roughhousing. Dunking not permitted. 6. Swimming suits on at all times. There were a few, but those were the main ones. Cleaning the pool took about an hour, every other day. Monitoring the pool chemistry was a daily thing.

Sounds like Greg is an milk-toast and too afraid to put a fence around his pool and cut off all kids, dogs, neighbors from using his pool.

They put a fence up. They still on the side to go in there. Anyways, I will put locks on the fence.

I tiled a couple of below ground pools and hot tubs. I've never seen a tiled pool with a liner. 9 years with Local #32 Tile, Marble and Terrazzo Union.

This is not an issue of nice vs mean. Allowing others into HIS pool is a huge liability issue! 🤷♀️🤦♀️. It's exactly like buying a boat. You suddenly have lots of new friends! (With zero gas money! 😳)

It’s his private property he doesn’t have to share. It isn’t even have to tell people what he’s doing with it is that maybe the town depending on the rules but that’s different not at the neighbors and random people around him that I want to just use him for the pool but that’s really inappropriate

Giving permission to use the pool is a major mistake. The liability is through the roof. If it were my property, using my pool would be a hard no. Sorry neighbors, if your kids want to swim, get a pool yourself. I have neighbors who have pools and never have I asked to use it.

From the start there would have been a locked fence and a huge no. What happened to him is exactly why.

One friend with a pool just filled it in. Another friend with a pool built an enclosure with a roof and a locking door. He needed the pool for exercises, which he did daily for medical reasons.
