Probably still a small percentage of foxes that are able to live around humans. If the friendly foxes are selectively bred with other human friendly ones, and bred for tameness, soon an entire population of foxes would be great pets on a regular basis. Of course, certain physical traits would be eliminated, just as that Siberian Arctic fox experiment in Siberia. They appear to be part dog and part cat. They make sound like a cat, and purrs like a cat. They can climb a tree like a cat, and they get along well living with cats. It's amazing how the red foxes laughing like humans. They also bark like a dog, but can scream exactly like a house cat. Check it out how well they live with cats

This so cute and sweet. I love seeing the little fox wrapped around daddy's neck. Cropper is so very gorgeous. It's impressive he trained a wild animal to walk on a leash. I love the bond they both have for each other pure love. Here in S. Oregon we have WildLife Images they care of injured wild animals and only release the ones that can make it back out in the wild otherwise they stay there. It takes a very special person to care for wildlife. We need more like this in the world.

We have had our fox for 13 years and he is the smartest and best friend we have ever had. He sleeps with us. Over the years I had trouble finding the right food for him but now I give him Tyson's oven baked chicken over dry dog food and he is doing great. He could not be released back into the wild as he got so used to people and we are so glad we have him.

Aw, I must say, to see a man of his generation (from Kent, no less!) being best friends with a fox is really heartwarming :) Kudos to you, sir! And I must agree with the majority of sensible people on here - if the fox hated being with the gentleman, he would attack or run. Putting him on a lead in a populated area is COMMON SENSE - I do the same with my dog to avoid him running off into potential danger if he's spooked. That fox was having a whale of a time in the woods with his friend!
